Swagath in Gurgaon is a branch of the original in Def colony, but the food is just as good! Superb malabari fish and appams, with a tall glass of beer! Even the non veg starters are superb. Right in the heart of Gurgaon in Sec 29. Nice, clean ambience, good family place.

This is one overrated restaurant. It is very expensive for the kind of stand-alone restaurant, they are. Mangalore dishes are quite authentic but that is not the case with chettinad and andhra dishes. They should realize that cuisine in the 4 southern statesis distinct; they cant mask the same curry with changes on the top of it and pass them off as regional dishes. Surprisingly, all the 3 times I dined her, the fish fry was as bad as it was the first time. And my friends did agree to it. Probably

My favourite place for having some awesome Chettinad food. Their Mutton Hyderabadi is a dish not to miss (especially if you enjoy spicy food). Ambience is quite decent, but then very open and spacious. The staff is very courteous as well.

This restaurant serves the food of all of the four south indian states. The dish we enjoy the most and is a must-have is the Kerala delicacy-'Appam' with 'Veg Stew'. The appam is similar to a dosa and the Veg Stew is a mixed veg curry cooked in coconut milk.

Besides this, they also serve a good variety of Andhra and Chettinad food as well. The ambience is quite good and the only negative is that the meal is slightly heavy on the pocket.

Swagath is this cool oasis in a desert full of the same typical fare. It serves the usual stuff alright but specialises in Mangalorean / South Indian / Indian Coastal cuisine. The items are priced a little on the heavier side but the taste is brilliant, the portions adequate, often sufficing 3 people with moderate appetite and the ambiance is soothing.

Their speciality is the spicy Mangalorean special fish dishes and the delicious Butter Garlic Pepper dishes which can be ordered in fish, prawns and chicken, even the ubiquitous paneer variant. Team it up with steaming appams, rice or parathas and you'll have a most memorable meal ever :).
