Visited in Aug in late evening. Very big garden and having lot of trees. This garden constructed by Maharaja Sayajirao Gailkwad 3 and hence named it.There are three entrance gates. The main gate is at Sayaji square (informally known as "Kala Ghoda Chowk" or "black horse square" because of an equestrian statue standing there). This gate is only 800 meters from the main city railway station and even less from the city bus stand. The third gate is at Rana Pratap square in Fatehganj area, and the second gate stands somewhere in between first and third gates.

I had a half day in Vadodara before leaving for Delhi so decided to explore the city and started my day with Sayaji baug. Nice place to hangout with family and friends. Big park with train toy ride which one can enjoy for 50 rs. There is a picture mueseum which I will recommend to visit ..camera charges extra..this is not end as you have a zoo there to explore.

It's a well maintained park with a zoo, aquarium and a museum inside. Museum was large (with a 10/- rupee ticket) and much to see/learn. A mummy and blue whale skeleton is something to see. Other pieces, sculptures, paintings were good but mostly replicas and not original. Coming back to park area, it was well maintained, very clean, huge but if you are coming from a metro or big city, you may find it just above average. Kids may have their fun while watching animals in a toy train.

A complete garden with Zoo and all the facilities. Its a wonderful place to be. Real Greenery, Museum, Zoo, Toy train & Planetarium. No entry fees for the garden. You pay for the activities if you want to involve. There is a separate Bird Zoo as well. The museum is a must visit. You can see the skeleton of the Blue whale. A full day enjoyment.
