Description: 'Agashiye' in Gujarati means on the terrace. This beautiful restaurant is spread over two huge terraces are inter-connected by a smaller one that houses a small wooden cottage. At Agashiye, the food is freshly prepared, a lot of it in the terrace kitchen where you can see it. Our attempt is to retain the distinct flavours of the ingredients and we use both spices and oil sparingly. The menu at Agashiye changes daily and varies seasonally too, so an item that you particularly liked during a previous visit may not be there on the menu. Though we hope you'd find another favourite! The staff at Agashiye comprises mostly of men from neighboring villages. During dinner, they will guide you to the waiting area where you will be served juice and starters. You will be informed when your table is ready. During lunch, you are seated at your table right away. The food is served in a kansa thali immediately on being seated at the table. The meal starts with a choice of Indian breads and ends with rice. Servings are unlimited. The staff has been instructed not to constantly hover around you and yet be attentive. In case you have a specific requirement, a supervisor will be there to assist you. Please don't be surprised if you are served a non-Gujarati dish or hear non-Indian music at Agashiye. It is neither an ethnic nor a theme restaurant. It is meant to be a dining experience in a contemporary Gujarati home.Agashiye can be booked for parties of up to 400 people with a buffet setting.

“best restaurant in gujarat”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

i ate at agashiye several times, but i'll never forget my first one. i booked a combined"gujarati thali and haveli tour by night". if you don't know ahmedabad i strongly suggest you to do the same. the atmosphere on the agashiye terrace is fabulous. candle lights, beautiful furnitures, and exellent service. gujarati thali is such an experience here: smells, flavours, colors...they are still in my memory and i'll never forget its right balance of spicy and mild tastes, a large variety of different dishes. a suggestion: leave a little space to dessert...it would be a shame to pass it.

Most authentic gujju food you can get. If you are traveling and missing home food than this is THE PLACE to be at. Try the THALI for sure. All the items on the menu at Green house is worth trying.

Must visit for ambiance also.

If you are looking for a traditional gujarati meal, this is the place you should go to. The setup is traditional, the staff is good natured and the food is excellent. Warning: Go on an empty stomach if you don't want to miss all the delicacies.

“Great food and experience”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

Gorgeous restaurant on the roof of House of MG Hotel. Choice between two set courses and the food is good value for how much you get (too much food for anyone to possibly eat). The staff are very professional and attentive and they even explain how to eat the food correctly with the aid of a handout. It was a great experience with delicious food.
