“Prayed Juma Prayer”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Historic look, a glimpse of Ahmedabad culture was papably visible on the street around. The abundance of Moghal food around. Praying friday prayer in this mosque was a spiritually fulfilling experience. However, the area could have been a little more cleaner and aesthetic!

“Worth a visit if you are in old city”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The jama masjid is situated in the heart of the old city. Easily accessible by public transport. Avoid going in your own vehicle as it can get very crowded and cars are not allowed in the small alleys. Best time to visit is early morning or afternoon, as the mosque is built of stone and it can get very hot in the day to walk. The mosque has many entrances and one can enter from any side. The main prayer hall is built of many many beautifully detailed pillars. Prayers are still conducted in this mosque. one can see wall grafitti done in arabic around the mosque corridors. Non muslims are also allowed to enter.

“Well maintained Masjid in the middle of the city”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

From outside, we wouldn't find much details. If you go with a guide, this masjid is having so many minute details and very clean. Well maintained. They are allowing even ladies to enter there and have a look. That way this masjid is unique. This place is surrounded by full of shopping centers.

“great”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

tucked away in the old city, this is a great place to witness the jain/muslim architecture. Get hold of a guide inside to explain the details...parking is a pain if you are self driving...lot of good bargain shopping area in the vicinity

“stunning”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

This is right in the middle of the busiest part of town yet inside is serene and peaceful. the architecture is of the time of the Mugal kings and truly breath taking. the hypostyle hall is the main attraction, but please remember this is an active place of worship and respect is paramount
