“All Is well”

were treated to a cultural programme of music and dance organized around bonfire. A scrumptious spread of cuisine at the dinner and breakfast made our at roja a lot more delectable. On the whole, it was worth every rupee. Those of you who love free-wheeling

“Peaceful”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

Good place to be at ... Maintenance is a little issue but its worth visiting. Try to visit it when the prayers are not in progress. That way you can visit the prayer hall as well. Another beautiful architectural venture.

Nothing much. Not architecturally. Religious significance may be for muslims. Neglected and not maintained.

“I5th Century beauty on display”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

My guide tells me that the whole place and the architectural styles represents the 15th century tastes and life and from what I have seen at the place, India must have been a center to architectural connoisseurs that can very well challenge the engineers of today. The work around the place is one of the best works I have seen. The mosque also has the remains of a palace in its vicinity. The whole complex is great in beauty and its size.

“Huge mosque”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

The Sarkhej Roja is a Sufi mosque, known as a dharga because it holds the tombs of royalty and a saint, Shaykh Ahmad Khattu, who came to Gujerat around 1400AD and was reputed to live 108 0r 111 years. The mosque is next to a huge tank, late 14th or early 15th century, mostly dry when we visited. On the opposite bank from the mosque are the remains of the King's and Queens' palaces. The sheer scale of the place is amazing, and it is fascinating to imagine what it was like when first built.
