Felt like time got reversed when I went there. Lot of informative stuff there. Dont forget to visit the library. There was serenity in the air especially when sitting by the side of the sabarmati.

One of the very old and preserved Ashrams, on the banks of Sabarmati river, centrally located, well maintained, good glimpse of Indian history, peaceful place.

This is a simple museum mostly with lots of quotes from Gandhi and other Civil Rights leaders. If you are not in a reading mood, this is not the place for you. There are not many artifacts, as would be expected with Gandhi's asceticism. You will see his seat that he sat on and his loom. One interesting contrast is the gift shop, mostly with books, but also with images of Gandhi in crystal. Maybe it has gone astray a bit? There is a view overlooking the water on the grounds, so it can be a pleasant place to meditate.
