The ashram is open to all - no entrance fee - perfect in the spirit of the Mahatma. The atmosphere is serene and the Museum designed by architect Charles Correa is wonderful with it's play of light and shadows.

To see the home of the father of the Indian nation, how he lived, what his daily activities was, who visited, how he influenced politics and changed India, to see his life is truly well worth the visit. The whole display is beautifully set out in various open spaces witch adds to the serenity of the whole ashram. The painting and general artwork is high standard and all tourists to Ahmadabad should visit this beautiful place.

It is a very quiet place.Gandhiji's memorabilia are inspiring Almost makes you feel you are in his presence or as if you are on the sets of Attenboroughs Gandhi
No guards or people imposing authority yet everyone maintains a decorum. The atmosphere just seeps into you
The exhibits and setop makes you relective and introspective

Place obviously has its significance in life of mankind. Main areas are maintained well. However surroundings near river front had non tourist idleaing away time. Also Govt should take intiative to start "sound and light show" again

Wanted to show my daughter (and see for myself) an important place in India's freedom struggle. Long list of exhibits, very informative, seeped in India's recent history! Loved the calmness of the place.
The Ashram could also have had something for kids so that they can better appreciate the place!
