India is a gem encrusted with the dirt of neglect. Those who have run the country for so long seem to be unbothered about the people they claim to represent. They are sincere only to themselves and to those close to them. However, exceptions exist. Gujarat is clearly a state run by people who are sincere to their protestations of public service. The Kankaria Lake illustrates such an approach towards governance. The surroundings are clean, showing that the facilities have been tended with the care of love. Imagine if the lake were "looked after" in the shabby way that most tourist attractions are in India, and revel in the difference, hoping that some day,all of India will exhibit the same depth of attention. The jewel must come into its own,not just in that tiny corner named Kankaria Lake, but all over
