PROS:
Courteous staff. Bright lighting in the rooms. Nice view of the river. Good vegetarian food in the restaurant. TV and the WiFi worked well. AC was also fine.

CONS:
Don't get me wrong, this hotel is nice, but certainly NOT a 4-star hotel! Extremely misleading rating on various websites and I was massively duped by that. I would like these websites to seriously look into this. This hotel is at best a 3-star hotel. The bathroom was nothing like the one shown in the pictures. It was a rather basic type - no tub, contrary to the picture shown. The bottled water provided in the room was not mineral water of any known brand, but rather the hotel's own plain bottle of water (not sealed)! The electrical sockets were extremely loose and I literally had to stick my laptop charger's plug with a sticky tape onto the socket!! No tissue-box in the room/bathroom (except toilet-paper).

The key swipe card worked after trying half a dozen times every time.

Only an overhead shower in the bathroom (no hand-held) and that too was with a fixed head, so you can't change the direction. In addition, the soap tray was so tiny (about 3 x 5 in) and so awkwardly placed behind the shower that not only did I end up dropping a couple of soap bars right into the sink hole, but it also left my hair wet and messy on days when I did not intend to wash my hair.

This is a wedding-special hotel, so you will hear lots of noise (drums etc) from wedding parties in that season.

It is on a fast-paced road, so noise from there as well. However, extremely difficult to get an autorickshaw, nor are there many decent shops in the vicinity. I missed a couple of important meetings because neither the hotel had a car available, nor were any cab drivers willing to come to that side.

Room tip: The higher the room, the better, as there will be a lot of noise from outside

We stayed in Silver Cloud for three nights. Front desk was very cordial in allocating us a room facing Sabarmati River in the upper floor. Noiseless well equipped room bit spacious too.Good Linen quality. House keeping and Room service crew very prompt. Good coffee maker in the room. Parking at the stilt and in the front.
Silver Cloud is just 100m from Sabarmati Ashram. As we drove down to Ahmedabad in own car local commuting wasn't a problem. Places like Huteesinh Jain Temple, Calico Textile museum, Sabarmati River Front walkways, Kankaria Lake, CG Road etc are nearby. Lot of eating joints, Kathiawadis within 3-4 kms.
Very good place and we strongly recommend. While booking just lookout for bargain prices.

We booked two deluxe double bedrooms at this hotel and checked at around 3:15 pm. Front desk personnel, Ms. Naina Chaudhry, was kind enough to upgrade one of the rooms to accommodate the couple with a child. Other room 305 was provided as per booking. Room 305 had an unnatural smell and hence this was changed to a room on the 4th floor which was having a twin bed. Hence, we requested room change one more time and this time the second room provided was 303 as per the booking. VIew from the upgraded room 311 was terrible.

Location of the hotel is excellent. We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and all the attractions(including ones in Gandhinagar) visited by us were within 45 minutes distance.

Front desk staff, bell boys and housekeeping staff had a very professional and soft attitude.

This hotel has a banquet hall which is used for marriage and other occasions. Guests of these bookings stay in the hotel and because of this, the 3rd floor was very noisy for all 3 nights during which we stayed there. Request reception to provide room on 5th Floor as it was very quiet when I visited that floor before checkout.

Bathrooms are small and could use some maintenance.

The biggest drawback of this hotel was its in-house restaurant. We had food at this restaurant immediately after check-in at around 3:30 in the afternoon. Lunch service with bread and curry was closed as per their timings (Although they did provide lunch provide to one couple who arrived after us). So we ordered fast food at the restaurant. Cheese sandwich seemed to be from the kids' menu, pasta was ok but the pizza was truly bad. The whole base of the pizza was charred black. Although they did offer to change pizza and not charge for the pizza, we were too tired to wait for the replacement and had eaten some of the pizza, so I insisted for payment for pizza and they accepted the same. Breakfast was not included in our booking, so did not have a chance to taste food again at the restaurant.

Room tip: 5th Floor rooms appeared to be on the quieter side

The Hotel has good helpful staff, although language is somewhat a barrier. My first Hotel to stay in India, so the food was not to the expectation, but understandibly because they are vegetarians. Its close by Gandhi Ashram so very good historically. Its close proximity to the main road and the airport also makes it convenient.

Room tip: Best rooms are the ones on the 3rd floor upwords facing the main road
