This hotel has everything that you want from a beach side resort and at a very reasonable price. Location of the hotel is excellent, one side of the hotel opens to the beach and opposite end open to the fort aguda road which has lots of restaurants. beach near to the hotel is one of the cleanest in goa and with regular tides to have lots of fun when you take a plunge into it. Beach also has few shacks to feed your apetite for good seafood. Calamari and plams n spring are the two good ones. Staff of the hotel is very polite, courteous and responsive. Resort is clean and neat and has lots of greenary. There are two pools small but clean. We enjoyed our stay and would definately be staying in Santana whenever we vists goa again.

We booked the room solely on the reviews by tripadvisor and make my trip. The resort is at a beautiful location with the beach close by. The rooms are very neat and clean. Food at the Olegarios restaurant was delicious. The pools are well maintained with a baby pool for kids. The staff was very nice and co-operative. Baby food was specially cooked for us, we had no problem at all. it was a perfect holiday. thank you all at santana!!!

Room Tip: If you want to enjoy pool and music, opt for rooms near pool and the quieter kinds may opt for the o...

Me and 2 friends have started visiting Goa every year and this year we stayed at Santana. The place is huge and amazing. It has everything that you would want when on a vacation. We had a spacious bedroom-hall-kitchen suite to ourselves. One end opened to a pool view and the other to the main road. The door towards the main road were sound proof and hence there was no disturbance from the traffic on the road. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The place is well maintained and is very relaxing. The breakfast spread is amazing and we particularly had an incident wherein the staff went out of the way to serve us with something that we needed.

You can walk down to the beach through the resort and it takes you to the Calamari beach shack which is where we lazed. Needless to say, the food was very good and we ate and slept on the sunbeds till the sun went down.

Would definitely recommend staying here!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with the pool view.

Recently spent two nights here this year, like I have been doing for the past 3 years. And every year the consistency of the service is there. The biggest USP of this place, of course, is the price but at the same time I have never felt any compromise on the service right from the reception to the restaurant and room . Direct access to the beach is also a reality here unlike proclaimed by other resorts. Santana now is an annual must in me and my family’s travel itinerary to Goa.

Disclaimer-did not have high expectations of this place but definitely expected to receive more specially because of the no 1 ranking they hold here. Secondly because we went during off season-expected better service!

Went during off season (18,19th Aug) and boy was it one helluva noisy, crowded place already.

Minute we reached the resort, the reception area was full of people in waiting. (I understand it was a long weekend but imagine how chaotic it's going to be during peak season). We weren't greeted at all and after nudging our way to the reception desk -no early check-in was allowed (we arrived at 11, check in is at 12). Now while this was ok, they could've handled it better. When we finished our breakfast (the only good highlight of our night day stay-The english breakfast) and reached the desk at 12, there was another half hour wait before we got the keys to our room.

Our room was big and spacious- no doubt value for money et al (4.5 K for 2 nights is a steal) but not sure if couples would want to suffer the loud hindi music by the pool (our room overlooked the pool) on almost most of the day (starting with a loud shrill in the morning as early as 8 am). One can't control the kids but did they have to add to it by loud music??Thankfully we had our 2 days packed so we were at the resort for just hitting the sack.

Our balcony didn't even have chairs to sit. Also you are Misinformed about whether shacks are open near by or not.

Tip: Don't order cabs or bikes at the resort. It's more expensive. Take a walk towards the main road and if you turn left or right and go a little ahead, there are cabs and bikes available for cheaper. During off season you can hire a bike for as less as 250Rs a day.

My concern is with it's no 1 ranking here on trip advisor. If I needed a basic resort, I'd go somewhere else where it's less noisy and service is better.

Room Tip: DO NOT TAKE A ROOM by the pool. Forget not being able to swim in it (cause it's gonna be crowded...

Dear Guest,

I am sorry to hear that your stay with us was not as enjoyable as it should have been. I would like to address some of the issues you raised.

I apologise for the loud music by the pool. We try and keep it at a reasonable volume most of the time, but when a guest in the pool requests for a song to be played louder than usual we cannot but oblige. However, i will ask the Pool Bar staff to be a little careful in future. Unfortunately, when you visit a resort you are bound to have other people staying who have different expectations from a holiday from yourself - some want peace and quiet others want to make a noise and have fun in common areas such as the pool. I think we all have to be a little tolerant of others needs as long as it is at a reasonable hour and not late at night etc.

Balcony chairs are provided in ALL rooms. Perhaps they were kept inside your room so that they wouldnt get wet on the balcony in the monsoon rains. If you had phoned at reception or the housekeeping department we would have sent someone to your room to move them from the bedroom to the balcony for you.

Our website clearly mentions that our beach shack Calamari is closed in the monsoons. I am not sure in what way your were misinformed and by who about shacks being open. Most people will tell you that in the monsoon season the government does not allow shacks to remain open.

Finally regarding bike hire - I believe the hotel staff hire their own bikes out for a fee of Rs. 250 per day so I am not sure how you felt it was more expensive then anywhere else. As for taxis, in reception there is a price guideline, given by the Government of Goa, for the all the main destinations in Goa and how much it should cost, so that our guests do not get overcharged.

I am sorry once again that you did not enjoy your holiday with us, in future I do suggest you email the hotel ahead of coming to request a room far away from the swimming pool because I am sure in most hotels you stay in the swimming pool will always be noisy.

Regards

Leanne
