Lemon Tree Amarante Beach Resort, Goa
Ranked #9 of 67 Hotels in Candolim
Reviewed March 26, 2012

Situated a few steps away from the very popular Candolim beach, at the heart of north goa is Lemon Tree Amarante Beach resort. An ideal getaway from the din and bustle of the city. its cozy interiors coupled with magnificient Portuguese style architecture transports you back to that era. their Heritage rooms are spacious but they are pretty expensive. Though there are a couple of packages that they offer during on-season or peak season. The off season rates are as per a 3 star hotel. The 24 hr restaurant viz; Citrus Cafe offers various types of mouth watering european and Indian dishes. however their meat items are extremely hard and difficult to chew. The Goan delicacy called Bebinca is quite nice. But again their fish n chips will make your taste buds go sour as the fish fries are absolutely sour. The reason being a prolonged marination of the fish pieces in malt vinegar and lemon. Truly Tangy!! I must say!! but not worth eating. so all you fish lovers just step out of lemon tree and visit Souza lobo at Calangute beach for some fishy stuff!!
Lemon Tree goa offers a delectable range of South Asian delicacies from Singapore, Vietnam, etc. at their Republic Of Noodles restaurant which is priced on the higher side.
Overall we had a lemon fresh stay at the Heritage Room. We had a royal experience in their high ceiling portuguese villa style heriatage rooms.
Ladies!! do not forget to carry your own shampoo and conditioner as the hotel shampoo will make your hair feel dry and lifeless.

the resort is very close to a couple of Goa's star attractions viz; Aguada Fort (no entry fee), A small church behind the fort , dolphin dance (Rs. 200 per head including kids above 3 yrs of age), Vagator beach, anjuna beach, Mapusa market (friday flea market), etc.

03 Heritage Studio Rooms with King beds in a century old Portuguese mansion, including one room for the physically challenged
01 Heritage Suite with a King bed and an attached private swimming pool, in a century old Portuguese mansion
The hotel offers special ladies rooms with a range of in-room amenities, especially designed for lady travelers.

All the rooms are well equipped with modern amenities that would make any guest feel at home.

Yes. The resort is expensive mainly because it also caters to the foreign clientele. But luxury and comfort are not freebies!! Enjoy a lemon fresh stay amid the sizzling silver sands of Candolim Beach.

A few shops are there right outside the resort. Here you can buy some souvenirs for your loved ones. However you will get a better bargain at the Arpora Night market on saturdays or the buzzing friday flea market at Mapusa.

This was an excellent hotel which is located very close to Condolim beach and all the eatries.
It was very clean and had a great selection for breakfast. It also does happy hour from 6 - 8pm every evening.I went with a group of 7 people and they look after us really well.

Stayed in a second floor pavilion room which was spacious, well kept with good A/C and bathroom. Staff were friendly and catered for our every need, breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The pool area was quiet and relaxing given the location of the hotel is right on the busy main road. The only negative point I found was the price of the drinks from the Mango bar adjoining the Republic of Noodles which are extortionately high compared to the rest of the resort which after being stung once never used again. Would definitely return, had a great time.

The place is extremely well kept. What bowls you over is the superb service and extremely hospitable staff. The service at the Citrus Cafe was especially warm. If relaxation is what you want out of your trip, you will surely find it here. Would definitely go back to this hotel once more.

The stay was very nice, I must make a special note of the Executive Chef Binish Baby and his wonderful creations.
The property is clean and tastefully done, we stayed in the Heritage Wing in one of the Heritage Room, the decor of the room was a good blend of Modern and Classical Portuguese style.

Room Tip: Go for the Heritage room

We travelled as a couple during Feb 2012. From the moment we checked in till we checked out of this hotel, everything was just superb.
Though we booked a Plaza room, but at the time of check in we got to know that our room had been upgraded. Probably this was due to paying the full amount before handed.
These guys also surprised us by a towel creature in our room decorated with flowers. As soon as you enter the room, there is a fresh lemony frangrance which lasts throughout your stay. The pool (a bit shallow though) was really neat & clean. The citrus cafe is also a good option to dine in. Pavilion Room along the pool is highly recommended. There is so much greenery all over. Moreover, CANDOLIM BEACH is just 2-3 mins walk from the back side of the resort. Another road approaching from the front is also close by (7-10 mins walk) to the beach. This resort is close to the local market. Bikes & Scooties are easily available just outside the hotel. Incase someone wanna drive down, Calangute Beach is 3 kms & Baga Beach is 6 kms from the hotel.
Now coming to the services & staff of the hotel. Everything was very pleasing. From the front gate guard to the receptionist to Citrus Cafe staff, everyone was just outstanding in their services. All your amenities & other requirements are just a phone call away.
On our last day, i planned a candle lit dinner by the pool along with flowers & cake for my beloved on the occassion of our anniversary. Everything was given as complimentary from Lemon Tree Amarante.
Would really want to thank the girl on the reception & the boy in the cutrus cafe for planning everything well in advance (sorry not able to remember your names).
We had a wonderful time at LEMON TREE AMARANTE, CANDOLIM, GOA.
Highly Recommended with an average budget.

Room Tip: Pavillion Room next to the pool on the ground floor
