“A good hotel in a very busy area”
Reviewed March 6, 2012

The hotel is good but only if you stay within its compound! The minute you stepped out of the hotel, the area is busy and dirty. We were very disappointed with Goa in general. I guess we came there expecting a tropical paradise-well, it's not! We visited several beaches while there but they were pretty much the same. For the price we paid, I think we did not get our money's worth

The hotel is right on the main road and the lemony scent throughout the resort is very refreshing. The room cleanliness, bed linen, towels, furniture and everything are maintained very well. Bathrooms were spotless clean. Service is prompt as well. We had reached the resort by 10am but the check in was not to happen until 2. Still the staff took care to keep our luggage while we went out. The check in was delayed by 1-1.5 hrs but they allowed us to use the pool meanwhile. Hence the overall experience was great. Their breakfast buffet is awesome at the Citrus cafe! Would love to go there again!

Room Tip: Take pool facing rooms, and preferably on 1st floor.

We spent 4 nights at the Lemontree. Our room was on the ground floor facing the pool, near reception. The room was cool and fresh (because of the lemony smell). The bathroom was okay, but the shower leaked water all the time on to the floor, that was my major turn-off. To be honest, we didn't spend much time at the hotel. I ate breakfast once, it was basic, but I preferred to eat at the restaurants on the strip, they were cheap and had better options. We had dinner the first night at Republic of Noodles, it was VERY good but a little pricey, the ambiance and the food made it a very nice place to go to. We did have an included dinner at the hotel, but we never used it because the restaurants on the strip had such great food for really cheap, we just wanted to try them all out. We ate at Casa Sea Shell, Floyd's and Kalinga, all were VERY good! There is lots of shopping nearby as well as the beach. We also rented a scooter for 250 rupees/day, they're right outside the front of the hotel, this was the best thing we did. We also had two hours of wi-fi each day included in our package, that was nice to be able to skype our family back home since we'd already been away for two weeks. The pool is nice, but we only used it once in the evening once to cool down after a day out walking about. Just a warning, the beds are VERY HARD!..We got used to it by the end, but it was tough the first night.

spent three nights here in Feb 2012. was a very good hotel with beautiful pool area c/w swim up bar. The Republic of Noodles restauraunt in the hotel was outstanding for service ambience and the food! rooms were clean large and nice. the rear of the hotel opened onto a pathway leading to the crowded dirty beach. The front of the hotel offered a small courtyard before heading onto fort road and the madness that surely has to be "Disneyworld India". North Goa is not a spot to even consider again for us, however, this hotel was a truly wonderful oasis amongst the madness in British and Russian and construction.

Room Tip: we stayed at the back wing in a plaza suite and were more or less away from the central pool and res...

we stayed for 3 days on the 9th of Feb 2012, found it very pleasant, the staff were helpful to our every need, our spacious twin room was on the ground floor with a small balcony so we could sit outside, a good shower and the scent of fresh lemony filled the room.
A breakfast buffet with many choices both spicey and continiental, juices freshly squeezed was execellent and a noodle bar are close by, a beauitful pool at different levels for the adults to the tinny tots splash paddle area made it a great resort for the whole family.
We had missed the tour going from the hotel, so was offered a driver, William and a 4x4,had the best full day tour, he took us where we wanted to go and to finish the day, the ever so changing colours of an ahh-mazing sun set
Out on the main street a lot of decent food cafes could be found amongst local shops super markets, some great gift stalls, where we bough heaps, and just as well, we found here were the best prices anywhere

Room Tip: any room for a excellent stay

I went their with my old school friends in the summer of 2011 and returned 6 months back with my family. Both times I had a whale of a time. Like their rooms with high ceiling and smart decor. Very nice wet bar and pool. Food at the buffet restaurant was excellent. Enjoyed hot fresh dosas, crepes, pancakes during breakfast. Very nice food spread even during dinner. This place is 10 minute walk from the beach. The beach itself is not too bad...mostly foreigners. And as I went walking outside the hotel, their are several good restaurants, a few grocery stores. Decent shopping. By cab it's 20 minutes from Baga night life. The cab took us their for 250-300 while the auto drivers charge almost the same.

This place's mascot is a doggy and that doggy is a friendly not interfering fellow who lies quietly inside the hotel. As an animal lover it warmed my heart to see an Indian dog adopted by the hotel.

We visited Citrus @ Lemon Tree, Candolim many mornings during our 3-week stay in Goa, February 2012. Having reviewed the cafe some 4 seasons ago, the consistently high standard and professionalism of staff that we encountered at the breakfast buffets, was still in evidence.

Nothing was too much trouble and tasks were done with a smile and performed with efficiency.

The variety of fare was many and varied from spicy South Indian sambar to Continental. Fresh fruit selection to fruit juices - canned and fresh. Salads, grilled veg, spreads and cereals are just a few of what’s on-menu. Dosas made to order and to your specification. I had mine drizzled with honey, but you can have it with sambar or have a pizza-like creation…..or anything your taste buds desire. My partner had her masala egg, done precisely how she likes it.

Special thanks to Binish and his fellow exec chef (who made my cone dosas). I WILL make my dosas as crispy and tasty as I've enjoyed at ’Citrus’....following your recipe, of course.

Read the placemats - they'll make you smile, whilst you're enjoying your meal.

There has been mention of the prices for the buffets but they’re worth it for what’s on offer. Well, we DID visit ’Citrus’ fairly regularly over the years, so that says something.
