Stayed 3N 4D at the Marquis beach resort. In simple words, the resort is absolutely amazing. The location is excellent right at the sinquerim beach (actually just across the resort gardens) which is not very crowded and you can spent hours & hours in front of the beach.
Starting from the Hotel pickup and then the check in, all was done very professionally. The resort is a good 1 hour drive from the airport (provided no traffic jams).
We're given the pool facing room which i must say was very good. Other rooms are also ok because most of the time we were not on our rooms..so doesn't really matter much. Rooms are not very big but adequate.
Food at the resort is good but a bit expensive. Breakfast which was included with the rooms was not very elaborate but decent. So better option is to walk down to the beach and visit some of the shacks there. But special mention to the live music bands that play in the resort restaurant.. those people are actually very good..
Restaurant service was very good but i guess the room service is one area they need to look upon.
Overall a nice beach resort with excellent access to the beach. Would love to visit again..

Room Tip: Pool side rooms have a partial view of the sea..

I stayed at Marquis Beach Resort for my first anniversary for 3 Nights in February. The reason for selecting this resort was for its location as we were looking for a quiet resort overlooking the beach and this resort offered just what we were looking for.
The Check-In was smooth without any problems except that we were not offered the Pool Facing rooms and were allotted rooms where balcony was overlooking an empty plot. Also the rooms were not that big and were pretty compact, But that was not an issue for us as we were not going to sped much time in our rooms but outside.
The hotel had the buffet breakfast which may not be termed as lavish but adequate. Overall, the food was quiet delicious for my liking.
Now coming to the best part of the Resort, the "View", the "Location" which was just fantabulous and we spent hours & hours in front of the beach on the Hotel's own sunbeds which were kept bang on the beach. Lovely that was.

I would like to make a special mention to the beautiful room decoration arranged by Mr. Shekhar on special request along with the arrangement of decorated table for beach front Candle Light dinner & Yummy delicious cake.

Service was also up to the mark starting day 2.

All in All i would definitely recommend this resort to my fellow travelers if hey are looking for Nice location and food .

We stayed for 4 nights and found the experience relaxing and comfortable.

The communication with the staff to arrange for an airport pick up was not as simple as it should be. After around 4 emails and two phone calls we still were not 100% sure if they would collect us. On arrival at Goa airport, we were pleasantly surprised to see a professional driver waiting for us which was a relief. The trip takes a good part of 60mins.

Check in was fine and they showed us to our room quickly but they asked that we pre-pay for the entire stay which was off putting.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. Bathroom is a little touch and go at times but over all good. We stayed on ground level in the new wing which gave us very easy access to the pool and the restaurant. The food at the resort is not fantastic but you can walk down to the beach and cross over to Calamari for food (this is some of the best Goan food). The beach is literally 50m from the pool but get there early if you want a sun bed or chair as they get taken up fast.

Be sure to rub on the sun screen or insect repellent before heading down to the beach as there are sand flies which will bite and cause some serious irritations (especially for small kids).

They do have a massage service, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you need to get one done, probably recommend the head and shoulders one.

We book Marquis at a time when the crowd had just started pouring in Goa. We booked the rooms just 3 - 4 days before the day of travel and were lucky enough to get the booking during the peak season December. On the day of our arrival we reached quite early, so obviously our rooms were not ready (considering the fact that there were other guests and check out time was 11 PM). Our friends had booked a room in the same hotel and thankfully came to our rescue.
The rooms were tiny but clean and had a big balcony, bathroom was clean and well equipped.
As soon as we checked in we immediately headed for the beach. The beach was right across the garden and was the best part of the hotel. The beach was very clean, quite empty and mostly foreign travelers enjoying their sun bath.
The food here was good, but breakfast not elaborate enough. We tried Indian & continental, both were better than the food that we had outside the hotel. Pasta Alio Oli, Tomato Basil and Briyana was good and worth mentioning.
There was live solo music every alternate evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner by the poolside, with romantic music playing in the background. My Husband and I dedicated songs to each other since it was our Anniversary. We went for a walk on the beach thereafter as the beach was so close. We saw a lot of people taking a stroll by the beach even at around 11 PM. If you are looking for a romantic getaway your search ends here.

The experience overall was good but the one thing that bothered us during the entire stay was the lack of well trained staff at their reception. It might not be worth mentioning. The internet card that we had purchased from the hotel did not connect and the reception lady nor the technical guy could provide possible solution to the problem. However they charged us for the internet usage.

Some of the Pros
1. Bang on the beach, you can also enjoy your late night strolls
2. Clean beach, no crowd at all. So much better than the crowded Baga and Calangute were tourists of all kinds flock and dirty the place. No touts to harass you. Best place for a quite getaway.
3.Clean big pool where you can read and relax. The property is huge enough, has a big garden.

There are some scope for improvement in terms of including more variety in the breakfast menu. The BF menu was repeated time and again which started becoming very boring. Staff can be trained better so that they respond to customer better and improve the overall customer experience.

Room Tip: Delux rooms are very small, Luxury rooms can be checked out.

The Marquis Beach resort at Candolim is decent hotel with medium sized rooms. The food at the hotel is strictly very average and you wouldn't miss much if you didn't eat there. :) the new block has more modern amenities in the rooms. The best part we enjoyed was stepping out of the resort & you are on the beach. The time spent in the sea was the most enjoyable and memorable. In short the only thing good about the hotel is its proximity to the sea and decent rooms. The food & service however left a lot to be desired !!! :(

We were in goa from the 2-5th feb. Really liked this resort. It's located bang on Candolim Beach, towards the end a little before the Taj property.

It's a neat, clean & decently done up property.

The resort has a nice poolside restaurant. We had our breakfast buffet here daily. The food is ok, nothing great, but loved there Kiwi & pineapple yogurts. The poolside is full of sunbathers the entire day till about 4pm.

They have a massage room (didn't see inside) bar & beach beds on the main beach, connected by some landscaping.Didn't get a chance to check this out as was busy exploring diff parts of Goa.

Only con according to me is that though the rooms are nice, neat & clean, quite comfortable & have all the amenities expected in a good hotel room, the room was very COMPACT (small, but since done up decently, used a better word )

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms have a decent view.

We visited fom 1st feb to 4th feb the only good thing abt resort is its bang on beach ,very clean
Now the cons rooms are very very small , we were in room no. 204 shower in bathroom had very low pressure, breakfast was very limited. Lastly booking was very boring there manager ashvek is really slow and when we tried to meet him in our whole stay we were always told he was bussy with conference were I didn't see any ,secondly on mail he clearly stated to provide me luxury room but after reaching there we came to knw we r allotted deluxe room inspite of me asking abt confirmation mail ashvek didn't provide me that I feel this rude.lastly on reception dipti is just rude they have no answer to any question . I wud recommend them to improve a bit , I wud rather prefer lemon tree than this hotel.well they dnt have baby pool so I can't make my children swim either.

Room Tip: Ask for better rooms with bathroom having shower pressure
