“Nothing Could Be Better”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

All rooms majorly provide best of comfort. this review would appear more like fake one but trust me...we were four people and loved it like anything. Better in terms away from commercial beaches. their own beach is clean and quite. sleeping in stars is like heaven on earth.

staff is courteous and helpful. place is so relaxing...damn...thank you sonesta...

We went in the off-season, in early September. Unfortunately, in the off-season, the only beach that has any bars/restaurants/life is Baga. Villa Goesa on Baga is about 200 Rupees/night cheaper, and it's a much nicer resort. Sonesta is a very good 2* or a very poor 3* depending on how you look at it. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for. The hotel is fine, but the location means that it'll cost you 300 Rupees each way to go out, if you're there in off-season, as there is literally nothing on Candolim beach. It's completely dead in the off-season.

The hotel staff try to persuade you that all of Goa is empty during the off-season, but anyone who's been to Baga can tell you that's just not true. I've been before, but only to Baga, so I just assumed that there would be some quiet life to Candolim, but no, seriously, the place is dead.

Our main problem was not the extra 800 Rupees/day (200 for the Sonesta and 600 for the taxi to Baga and back, every day) it is the fact that on Baga, like any beach, the bars and restaurants are shacks, so the toilets are really awful, for the most part. For guys, that's not such a big deal, but for our wives, obviously, it is so much nicer to be able to pop back to your nice hotel to use the clean facilities rather than deal with a hole in the ground.

The Sonesta is not cheap enough to be considered a good deal, and in my honest opinion, you'd be 100x better off staying at Villa Goesa, or pretty much anywhere on Baga beach, off-season or otherwise.

(I'm not going to complain that they claim to have a gym and a spa, even though they don't. They don't tell you this until you reach there, but like I say, I'm not going to cry about that. I'm not even going to complain that they charged me for items in the mini-bar that were never there in the first place, I mean, it's a budget hotel and the staff are pleasant. It's maybe not such a well run place, but, for example, they only charge 30 for a bottle of water and 60 for a pot of masala chai, so even if they make up some extra charges, it's not expensive to begin with, so you can forgive them that much.)

Thankyou for your feed back,we will definitely improvise in the fields we are lacking in.
We have 2 wheelers available outside the resort on rent for just few rupees and that also for the full day so this can be a cheaper option incase any resident guests want to enjoy a crowded baga or calangute

The hotel location is good, but the villas are really run down. When we made the booking we were promised 3 bedroom 3 full bathrooms in our villa. To our surprise, we found that one bathroom was so small, and that if we had to have a shower we would have to sit inside the sink!!!! What was worse was that when we requested for a change, the manger instead of extending whatever courtesy, basically "asked us to go to hell"!

Over and above this, the management seemed not to mind that there were guests swimming in there pools with cloths on; and that the breakfast room which catered to the guests, was large enough to fit not more than 20 people. At one breakfast (and our last one there), there were over 70 people packed into that room, with no ventilation!

Overall a very bad experience.

I stayed at the hotel from 28th August 2013 to 1st Sept 2013 , Truly this hotel is a Super Value for Money. The Services offered are excellent. Its just a 100 metre inside the Main Road towards Fort Aguda. The Hotel is beautiful , Nice pool , Lovely interiors , and overall each and every thing is just too good. U can get Taxi & Bikes for rent just outside the Hotel Gate.
The Guys there Franics and Xavier give u a very good deal. I compared their rates everywhere and then went on with these guys , and no hassle as they are right outside to take care of bike even if u leave it Unlock. Food is excellent and very tasty , only thing is the breakfast menu should have more options. But as being off season i know not many ppl come so thats okie. And the breakfast time also should be extended as its 7.30 - 9.30 , Being in Goa , noone gets up that early and if u have to do breakfast u need to put a alarm to wake up . in 3 days i just had breakfast only 1 day as i couldnt get up that early. I would definately recommend this hotel to people who are looking for a good property to stay and also value for money. This is a complete package.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the pool are better for Privacy if u travel as a couple. As they have the balcony...

The location and surrounding is great but the rooms suck!! The room had a musty smell and the bed linen and towels were dirty. There were bed bug stains all over... Had planned to stay 3 nights but left after the 1st night...wouldn't recommend staying there!!

From the time we checked in the service at Sonesta inn was impeccable. Although we visited the place off- season, the place was immaculately maintained. The room service was prompt and the rooms were spcaious and clean will all regular amenities.

The restaurant serves a reasonable spread for breakfast whcsh is of good quality. The staff were very considerate and looked after our 2 young children's( 2yr & 5yr) needs very well. Albert in the restaurant deserves a special mention for his un-obstrusive but diligent attention to our every need. Mr. D'Souza the manager was ever present and hands on, which probably explains the quality of the place.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

hotel is located at candolim and opens up to the beach, overall a decent property with friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and very well maintained. the property is clean.

Breakfast provided in the package was not to the mark, also the timings are very poor. Toileteries is not complete. the luxruy room has a batch tub however provided is an internal heater which does not give enough hot water to fill the tub. Place is full of mosquitoes you cannot step out of the room without a mosquitoe repellent.

Room Tip: rooms facing the pool with Balcony opening towards them are a better choice. take the package withou...
