We stayed over here for just a night, the place is magical. Taken away from the usual hustle, it's a tranquil place with nice people and great ambience. Food was very good, need not be particular about the room, the place is worth spending a day at.

We had the lucky chance to stay at Marbella Guesthouse , Sinquerim, Goa during the lovely Goan season of December.
The property is a renovated heritage old Portuguese villa, tastefully redecorated by the gracious hostess Susan .
I have no dearth of brownie points to give to Marbella.
Number one - the property itself . It is spacious, airy, regal, private ( tucked away in a lovely bylane in one of the best parts of Goa - a stone's throw away from Fort Aguada and the lovely bay beach of Sinquerim ).
The visitors have access to this lovely isolated beach, and yet can be in the most happening parts of Goa within 10 minutes, that is the beauty of the location.
We stayed at the Penthouse Suite, and had a lovely discount ( just before the peak Christmas time starts ).
The Suite could have accomodated ten people easily, it came with its own huge drawing room, dining room, bedroom, pink bathroom ( winks to Susan on this ) , and a private sunning area with a reclining deck chair.
At the price, it was a give away.
The adjoining Garden Room, Bougainvillea twin rooms, and the Rajasthani and Moghul suites on the ground floor too were beautiful in their own right, and we cant wait to try them out.
Next - the service - prompt and immaculate.
very clean, responsive, courteous and ever smiling staff.
The third plus was the Manager - Julius, who is a friend till date, and managed everything for us - right from a roaring Bullet bike to trivial details.
He was ever friendly, ever reachable at all odd timings, and a very useful contact to have in Goa - knew the ins and outs of the place.
The kitchen was wonderful , the food was excellent ( although overpriced, as I pointed out to Susan ).
The reason for the excellence that pervaded the place was obvious when we met Susan - she is gracious, intelligent, intuitive and dedicated.
Her sense of style shows itself in every part of Marbella - every antique piece that adorns this lovely homestead .
She is a trained physical therapist, and my husband Joy was privileged to experience her healing touch first hand.
Rupert and Ruby were gems who made our stay memorable with their gentle calmness.
The entire villa had an aura of charm and timeless elegance, and we were fortunate to carry this slice of heaven with us in our minds and in our hearts.
Love you all at Marbella !

Room Tip: Go for the Penthouse Suite if you want to have a memory that lasts a lifetime ! The Rajasthani Suit...

This is an old bungalow converted into hotel. The rooms are large and the staff is warm and hospitable. The hotel has a restaurant which serves very tasty food. Their omelette is to die for. During off season their rates are unbelievably good. The location is fantastic - its just off the main road, but close to major destinations like Baga and Calangute. Hiring bikes is also easy from this hotel.

Room Tip: Their Rajasthani suite is awesome.

Nestled in a quite corner near sinquerim beach and the TAJ property, this small property is far away from the crowded streets and beaches of calanaugate and baga, a perfect place to have some quality relaxing time. We arrived from PANAJI on our activa (20 minutes drive) and were given a warm welcome by the Manager, Checkin was a breeze with hardly 2 minutes, I had even forgot my ID however they accepted my scanned copy which luckily I've in my email. Moving on we stayed in the bournevilla adjacent to the lobby and opening in the veranda/open space, the property has pretty old furniture which adds to the charm of the place. Room was pretty standard size but clean with the shared balcony overlooking greenery. The room only had twin beds (though were comfy) which as a couple you may find uncomfortable. Service is great, frankly we didn't expect this much attention however the staff is really polite especially the chefs and housekeeping staff and tried their best to make things convenient for us. Noteworthy points for fellow travelers: FOOD is not included in the rates, they have a la carte menu which is at par with most of the restaurants hence we mostly ate at restaurants :) and they charge 2.5 % extra if you pay by credit card so I had to go all the way to candolim to avid some moolah. The beach is located 10-15 minutes of walk (500 m) since we had activa with us communicating within candolim and nearby attractions was not a problem but if you prefer walking be ready to walk atleast 1-1.5 km for any eating joint henceforth strongly recommend hiring a scooter (Activa/ bike) Since we went very early in the season was able to get a discount on the published prices hence the VALUE FOR MONEY, overall had a lovely stay

Marbella guest house is an amazing place to stay in if you want a calm vacation. Away from the hustle bustle and touristy locations in Goa, this is situated at the end of a very serene lane in Sinquerim. The Sinquerim and Candolim beaches and Fort Aguada are walking distance from here.
The rooms are so well done! Each room has been thoughtfully and tastefully decorated based on the theme. The sunken bath in our Rajasthani suite rocked! We also had a small garden to ourselves for nice peaceful coffee in the evening.
The staff here is very helpful and skilled. We generally had breakfast here and every dish is cooked to perfection. The cook, Ashok jee, is very accommodating as per your requirements.
Mario, who is the manager here, will help you in every way he can.
Marbella has two house dogs, Rupert and Ruby, who are as tame as they can be. I did not mind them at all...And believe me I am super scared of dogs.

The only negative two negative points I can say about this place is that the good restaurants and party places are near Baga and Sinquerim is not really well connected by public transportation. However we had rented a car and could drive to all places easily. The location, though secluded, is not scary at all, even at night.
Secondly, I went there in an off peak season. So at 2200 per night, the suite was value for money. However is peak season it might seem a bit pricey as they do not offer any other services or complimentary breakfast.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique. I stayed in the Rajasthani Suite. If you are a bath tub person...Nothing like...

It was a brilliant experience. From the moment we checked in everything was just perfect. We had all our breakfasts there. We loved it every morning. It was so quaint and peaceful. The bathroom is wonderful. We showered several times just to enjoy the bath tub. The goan curry and rice was delicious. The staff were extremely warm and helped us with what ever we wanted.

Room Tip: Rajasthani suite is a steal. It is better than every other room there.

We stayed at Marbella guesthouse for five nights back in March. It was lovely. A really peaceful setting, close to the beach and bus stop for if you want to travel around Goa. The owners and staff made our stay even better- the food is stunning, cooked to order and so good we happily ate there every night. Great value for money. Would recommend it over and over again.
