Me and my wife travelled to goa in the last week of aug 2012 to enjoy the monsoons. We took the penthouse and my friend and his wife took the Moghul suite (Rajasthan suite was already occupied ). Penthouse is just awesome. Well what makes this place really special is not just the beauty of this old Portuguese house but also the staff. The staff is too helpful and are delighted to serve you. Some of our friends who live in goa came to visit us and the big living room in the penthouse is just the perfect place to host a big group as well. As mentioned by many, the food is expensive in here, so we asked the staff's about other food options and they guided us to nearby cheap food joints. So we ordered food from outside and had a blast with friends in the big penthouse living room. They also helped us to rent a Swift which we used to roam all around goa all day long, and when we use to return back late evening, we use to sit in the lobby play carrom board or just chit chat. The lobby served an excellent place to hangout . To summon it all up, we had an excellent vacation in goa and Marbella was a big reason for that... We are definitely going back to Marbella :-)

The house is beautiful, the rooms are just perfect and super clean and the spa services are the best in India!!! I really really enjoyed staying here!!! If you are going to Candolim you must stay in this beautiful place!!! the staff is super friendly and they make you feel like home every second!

Room Tip: Bounganvillas, the one in the corner is the best!

This place was my husband's friend's recommendation. And I must say, what an amazing recommendation it was!! The services, the celebration, the hospitality made it Truly an EXPERIENCE FOR LIFETIME. Located at a peaceful location in South of North Goa,away from the busy lanes and by lanes, its a perfect gateway to ENJOY vacation. The property has its own aura. It has a beautiful garden, a nice trek along the green hill, a well in the middle of the property and to add to it, The People, lovely warm people. I stayed at Bougainvillea and Rajasthani Suite. Though Bougainvillea was smaller than Rajasthani suite but it had a lovely balcony, traditional wood roof, amazingly clean, beautiful bathroom. Shifting to Rajasthani suite was an option we had, as it was my birthday and my husband wanted to surprise me so he asked, the Property Manager, Julius to decorate the room and to everyone's surprise Julius decorated the room in such a manner that it looked lovely like a Honeymoon Special :D It was beautifully done. The room in itself was very royal, with a huge ceramic round bath tub, larger than life bed room, decorated in Rajasthani style, showered with flowers and balloons. The food was good. Though fewer choices of breakfast for the vegetarians but they do entertain out of menu orders. Vehicles could easily be rented from here. Choices varied from scooty to bike to car to open gypsy. Four wheeler is very expensive but two wheelers are affordable. Though the property is not on the beach but its not very far off either. The property is completely affordable and fully recommended for its sheer hospitality and affordability.

We found this place by chance searching on the internet and then chose to stay after reading the reviews here. Its indeed a brilliant place. Located at the end of the road to Sinquerim this is a bungalow which has been converted into a guest house. Its tastefully decorated and well maintained. However its not located close to the beach so one would need hiring a bike/car. The guesthouse has a garden which is well maintained and was beautiful during the rains. We especially liked having elaborate breakfast sitting besides the garden enjoying the nature. The guesthouse only has 5-6 rooms/suites and hence is not crowded. The rajasthani suite is beautiful and the garden rooms are also good and value for money. Didnt get a chance to views the other rooms/suites. It is maintained by a group of lovely people who take good care of you. One of my friend was celebrating his wife's birthday and hence asked the manager (Julius) to decorate. It such nicely done that it felt as if the person had decorated it for his own girlfriend. Service is very personal. The food is also good and tastes like home food although I found it slightly on the expensive side. There are two lovely dogs with whom one can easily make friends. They add to the charm. Overall I would definitely recommend the place to people who want to relax and enjoy the stay as well; especially during the off season like monsoon. Caring people. Enjoy breakfast in the garden. However located little away from the beach so hire a bike.

Room Tip: garden room is definitely value for money. Rajasthani suite is beautiful.

Marbella was a lucky find, we stumbled upon it on one of our many trips to Goa. It's beautifully located, right next to SInquerim beach and Fort Aguada, surrounded by lush foliage. It is not right by the sea, but the dense green view it affords is serene and lovely. It's a small, intimate place, with tasteful furnishings, excellent food and informal but good service. We stayed in the Penthouse suite which is oustanding, and most of the other rooms/suites were taken up by our friends, so I got a chance to enjoy them all. Every room, big or small, is elegant and cosy. The hosts Susan and Dian are friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them. The 2 dogs are very friendly and my toddler had a blast with them. For those who are looking for a slick ambience, luxury and deferential service, this is not the place. But for those, who are looking for comfort, old world charm, friendly service and a relaxed hang-out, this is definitely THE place in Goa.

We really had a tough time figuring out which location to stay at in Goa, and we finally decided to stay in North Goa. We came across this after a ton of searching and they had availability for the time we wanted to go. The pricing also seemed quite affordable. I really have no complaints about the property, as it was close to some hiking trails and a short walk from the bars and restaurants. The rooms were clean, it was quite a pleasant stay.
