Had our 1st holiday in goa , just me and my wife . Absolutely loved very minute of it and can't wait to go back . The Phoenix park hotel was wonderful , the staff were very friendly and helpfull too especially Benjamin the pool attendant guy who did all he could to get you your sunbeds and towels sorted . The only thing I could criticize is the poolside bar , great people but took an age to mget food or hot drinks out to you but it certainly wouldn't put me off the place . Upstairs there's a tailor called pk , a wonderful guy but keep away from him if you like shirts coz you can't help but buy from him coz there beautiful and an absolute bargain !!! (Think I bought 12 off him and my wife bought stuff off him too ) met some lovely people whilst there especially nick , Val & nil from Tom & nicks haven a bar just outside the hotel next to johns boat trips , gorgeous food served there every day & night . If your thinking of goin to goa consider the Phoenix park inn hotel .

Though the resort is not on the beach it is located within a walkable distance from Candolim beach in North Goa. The resort in itself is very comfortable. For rooms there are some older blocks which have small rooms while the new blocks have spacious rooms. The staff is friendly and prompt. The poolside especially a lively place in the evening with live music and food on offer and is beautifully laid out. The restaurant has a good variety of food to choose from, though the restaurant service could be a bit quicker. Taxis and bike hires are available from right outside the hotel. Would strongly recommend the hotel if one is not very particular about a beach resort.

I checked in with my friend on 3rd jan and had the worst experience of our life. Our friend came to drop us at the hotel room after a wedding reception. He walked us to our room when we were stopped at the reception saying guests are not allowed. We said its not in policy while booking and proceeded to room. Shocking thing happened wherein security guard followed us knocked on door and asked my friend to leave immediately even before he had walked in..my friend felt insulted left hotel and never spoken to me since..I demanded to meet manager and when I explained what transpired he had a casual attitude and lectured on how to speak..I feel disgusted to have stayed in this hotel and lost a friend because of the hotels rudeness. I have stayed in multiple hotels around world where guests are free to visit and its just apalling what this hotel does.

Stayed here last two weeks in November this is a great hotel the staff are very polite, and nothing is too much trouble for them, Peter one of the waiters and Benjamin the pool attendant were especially good.
All areas of the hotel were always clean, rooms cleaned very well every day, gardens were also maintained to a high standard.
There is also a Spa which is very good value for money and highly recommended.
The Tailor, P. K. based at the hotel is also good, a little more expensive than out of the complex put the quality was a lot better (you get what you pay for) And he does look after you.
Our friend had a small problem with one of the house boys but that was sorted immediately with professionalism from the management. The resort had a lot of power cuts at least two a day, the good thing about this hotel is they have a backup generator so only without power for two minutes max.
The down side is the pool area, you only get the sun for three to four hours a day due to all the trees that are around it, rest of the day you are in the shade. Food and beer prices are a bit more expensive than in the town. The lobster pot was a good place to eat,
If you go to the beach please be careful, the waves are powerful and will knock you off your feet. The undercurrent is VERY DANGEROUS, it had myself and my friend over and were only up to knee height at the time.
The prices of a large bottle of Kingfisher was about 95rupees (less than a £1)
A three course meal for my wife and myself was about 7500 rupees (£7.50) the food was of a good quality.
I have never spent so little money on food and drink whilst on holiday.

Down side we arrived at 7.30 in the morning but could not book in until after 12.30 ( should have been 2 pm) !!! No welcome drink and just had to sit by the pool
Room on top floor but room decent and bathroom good hot water erratic but it is Goa bed rock hard had the view of the side of another building
Breakfast good
Pool clean with pool towels
Near to all amenities
Had Christmas and new year celebrations very typical but at least they made an atempt
