This is a fantastic hotel but you must get a premium room. As soon as I arrived I asked to upgrade and was told there were no upgrades for 4 days and I could not book the upgrade till that day. Anyway to cut a very long story short, we were given a standard room for one night (dreadful, clean but dismal) and then moved to another hotel (Casablanca) into a suite for the next 4 nights. It might sound a hassle but to be honest it was fine and the staff were brilliant, from speaking to others it's a regular thing as they try to juggle people who want upgrades. Poonam who looks after you and seems to sort all the hotel problems out is brilliant and whatever that hotel group pays her it is not enough! When we returned we were upgraded for free into a premium room which was wonderful, really modern and spotless. The first standard room we had was just old, tired and run down but give them their due it was spotless. The hotel grounds and pool are clean and tidy with lots of staff around, we didn't try the pool as we liked going to the beach, it looked busy though. Didn't eat in the restaurant but had room service after a hard night on cocktails and honey bee which resulted in us laying in bed watching the satellite tv all day. The food arrived quickly and was really nice. Only had breakfast a few days as preferred eating on the beach but when we did it was really nice. Pastries, toast, fruit, fresh juices and the usual eggs and breakfast items of curry and dosa. We were visiting for my friends birthday and as soon as the room boy saw the cards we got some flowers, wine and a cake which was a nice surprise for her.
We are going to stay at this hotel again as its a great location with friendly staff but will make sure we've got the upgrade when we book, we couldn't do that with Monarch so wouldn't use them again.
We stayed in the Rosa block on the top floor and would like to mention that our room boy Dev was brilliant very polite and kept the room spotless! If your going here don't let the bad reviews put you off, it is a good hotel.

This is definitely one of the best hotels around the Candolim area. A small hotel with a great pool setting and well maintained and looked after. The staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean, bed linen and towels changed every day and most balconies have a pool view.
There was a lot of choice at breakfast, hot and cold selections and if you decide to eat in the evenings, the chefs are fantastic.

Don't use the reception for money exchange - just a two min walk down to the main street and there are places there which will give much better rates.

Say hello to Rodney, she owns a little market stall just along the road and will be your best friend for the whole holiday if you buy something from her and her husband Delboy (yes I know) does the best Henna tattoos.

Would certainly stay here again if going back to Candolim.

We have just got back from a two week holiday staying Phoenix Park and of all the years we have been going to Goa this Hotel is one of the best. The staff are all very freindly and helpful but one member of the staff Poonam was so helpful nothing was to much trouble for her always eager to help she is a credit to the hotel. At the front desk Kumer who helped us with changing our rooms was very understanding of our disabled member of the our group . The hotel is great and the location is good you can walk to the beach and restaurants. They have taxi's who work for the hotel and Cheeta was are main driver who was a real pleasure. The Rooms are cleaned daily and once agian the boy cleaning our room was so friendly. Breakfast was top class and we also ate a couple of meals at the hotel which were really nice. Note they do discouted drinks at certain time and it work out really cheap. The only bad note i need to comment on is block 5 it is dark and dingy but the rest of the hotel is fantatsic .We had a visit from the owner of the hotel and i mentioned to him that it was a lovely hotel and his staff were really helpful and friendly. Thanks you all at Pheonix park and we will see you next year. Maggie /Terry/Maggie/Lazenby

Well where to start. had a fantastic room . went for Xmas and New Year The bed as in previous reviews was so comfortable and huge. Our room overlooked the front of the hotel and the balcony was on the side. The room was spotlessly clean..and I am really finicky. the staff unfaillingly polite and couldn't do enough for you. We are beach lovers so didn't spend anytime in the pristine clean pool and surroundings. The hotel is just off the main road of Candolim. its close to everything but a lovely quiet location. At the top of the road all the ladies congregated every morning waiting for transport and if you just go up the road and turn left instead of heading to the main road the fields and architecure of some of the properties is totally unique. i can understand why this place could capture your heart. Go to beach road for fab jewellery one of the best is Jewels and Gems ( on the right as you are walking to the beach,...my other half bought me the most beautiful hand made ring and earings i could pick the stones got princess cut diamonds and emerlds. a lady called in to see her pink saphire whilst we were in it was stunning Go to the beach just shy of Jacksons Shack and find Rajur what a guy.The next trip to India will see us at phoenix park inn resort. Dont hesitate go and see Poonam (guest relation) and his fantastic staff

Got my room on the 3rd floor.Dim ,normal ,unimpressive .Had to upgrade @ 1500/- per room night. However it is centrally located in Candolim ,conveniently near my favorite hangouts. It is a riot at breakfast ,not a place to sit & long unruly queues for everything. The hotel staff are friendly & helpful in all aspects.

Room Tip: The base category rooms are strict No NO.
