Fantastic hotel .. Has a very good location and the food and the service was great. We had some problems with our wi fi but that was a technical issue.
The staff is great and very helpful. We got ourselves a bike with mr ponu from reception helping us to get it at a very good rate.
You cannot go wrong with your stay in this hotel. It is 2 min walk from the beach and a beach shack and on the main road of candolim. They have just 16 rooms so guess it is always difficult getting a room here. It is just too nice a neat and clean .
The alo paratha in the breakfast is a must have and as a matter of fact anything you order is just perfect.
They gave us food at 3 in the morning and were well looked after.
Would love to go back rather than self praised other 5 star resorts in goa .

One of our friend recomended this resort for our stay in Goa. He had just stayed a week back here & he had an awesoome experience. After going through the reviews of this property we also got interested to book this place. As me & my wife visit goa once in 05-06 months we have been staying at all the major hotels & resorts. But the difference that we found here was the service & the beautifull location of this resort what makes it an outstanding one in Candolim & Calangute. We had booked the Palm Suite room which are on the first floors. We thought to hav a look at the aqua suites & we just got upgraded with aqua suites as we loved the rooms. They are spacious & well designed with the private pool at the backside of the rooms. The food was also awesome & to add this place has a 24 hrs room service with almost everything available. The staff was very helpful & prompt at service. We had booked our watersports at the place which was also a good experience. The beach bike was at rent at the resort which was also a first time experience for me in life. We had a real fun & enjoyed staying at the place.

Room Tip: Aqua rooms are the best for couples.

We booked the aqua suite room. The rooms are very beautiful and have a plunge pool. The beach is just 02 minutes from the resort. The food is awesome especially the goan seafood. We had a lovely stay at this place. We will definitely come back for our next holiday again in this resort. Thanks for making our holiday fabulous.

Pluses:
Good location - located very near to the beach, shacks and main road
Looks beautiful like a small boutique hotel
Has a small collection of novels/ books that comes handy
The restaurant although small is in open, a little elevated and looks pretty
Rooms look beautiful from inside - but please do read my comment on the room further below

Minuses:
- Overpriced
- Rooms smell of dampness (fungus on the walls may be). Had an allergy just after one night of stay. Still gave it another shot of staying additional night. But, the allergy got worse. Please do not stay here if you are prone to nasal allergies
- No options for kids
- The walk from hotel to beach is rough. Never go from this track at night. Had to go to the beach though an adjacent hotel even during day time
- Linen (bedsheet & towel) looked already used when we checked in. Had to get them replaced

Room Tip: We stayed on the 1st floor. The ground floor rooms come at just a little extra price and have attac...

Great Points:
-Very Friendly & helpful Staff - very responsive. Printed out airline tickets for us and arranged breakfast for us at 5am before we headed to the airport. They didn't have to!
-Breakfast is made to order rather than buffet - good options and very tasty
-Aqua room plunge pool is a nice touch
-Location was just right
-Up and coming facilities include gym, childrens play area, public restaurant... all in new patch of land bought adjacent to hotel
-Clean rooms with Tata Sky (loads of channels on flat screen TV), mini fridge, large comfy bed
-Located on the quieter side of the Candolim beach area. A short walk up the beach brings you to a line of shacks with drinks, food and music

Bad Points:
-Website & contact details were hard to google (it's www.theclematis.com). This is because it's a new hotel and improvements are being made to the hotel. Mentioned this to management and I'm sure they will fix this quickly.
-Short walk to the beach could be just a little bit tidier
-WiFi didn't work for the first day and half out of 6 that we stayed but the staff soon got it up and running and informed us as soon as it was live again
-Location on Google maps is wrong. It's not next to the Lemon Tree, it's further down just past the Acron Arcade, right next to Santana Beach Resort. The images aren't on Google Maps yet because it's still fairly new

The bad points are things I've tried really hard to pick out to give the hotel a fair review, but if I'm honest, the experience at the hotel was fantastic. We booked through makemytrip.com which gave us a great deal.

I'd definitely recommend this place if you are planning a trip in Goa. Baga and Calagunte beaches are a little busier, and can be easily reached via hiring a motorbike (300 RS a day for a new one) or a car (1000 RS a day for a 2 year old Suzuki WagonR) or of course taxi. It's maybe a 10min drive to Baga.

Room Tip: Consider the aqua room if you want something different. It's a small area in the terrace with a...

Yay's:
1) Neat & Clean
2) Comfortable bed & big rooms
3) Proximity to the beach
4) Friendly and honest staff ( forgot my wedding ring in the shower - but got it back ).
5) Tasty food
6) Private pool is a novelty and was exciting ( esp for the children ).

Nay's:
1) No car parking facility.
2) Air conditioning is controlled by the Hotel also - so expect periods of a/c "blackout". But this is not so bad - as they do it for short periods only.
3) Toilets near the main pool are dirty and unusable.
4) No buffet breakfast ( we went during the off peak season ). A La Carte option given instead with only 4 options available. No change in menu for the 4 days we spent there - making breakfast very monotonous. Food was tasty though.
5) Food is unbelievably expensive. You can probably get the same dish at a comparable rate in a 3- 4 star hotel in London or Paris.
6) Coir mat laid on the floor inside the room is very rough and walking on it was very painful.

well exactly a year later we were back again at The Clematis , the management has changed . i must say the service is the same , friendly staff a special thanks to Mr Frazier The new Manager with the valuable inputs and service . i would say the Breakfast needs a lot of attention coz the Menu is the same everyday , it really needs a lot of improvement , veg dishes should be added also a proper breakfast menu should be printed , as it's a la carte Menu , when you ask the staff they will only tell you 3 things , eggs paratha and idli , we have to ask for juices cereals and other items . the resort is very quite with a great swimming pool and lovely hammocks to laze around . the service is a bit slow as they are understaffed , but who is in a hurry after all we all are here to enjoy our holidays . i can agree with the reviewer who has posted about water problems , the heating was bad at times , we need to make repetitive complaints . i will surely go back very soon .

Room Tip: pick 201 it's the best room with huge space and good views
