“Great hotel but accident waiting to happen.....”
Reviewed May 14, 2011

All the reviews below so far are spot on and very accurate. Small issue with the hotel menu in that half of the dishes were never available. The bar staff said that it was a " new menu" issue but the well worn laminated menu pages said another thing........

On the roof above room 201 there were several spare heavy terracotta roof tiles lying on top of the existing roof just waiting to slide down the roof and come crashing down onto the sunbeds below (the corner between the bar and the dining area). This was brought to the hotel management's attention in the first week but nothing was done by the time we left after 2 weeks. It was also included in the hotel's comments book and I also sent as a review to Thompson (who, strangely enough haven't uploaded my review to their pages....)

The hotel was great, the rooms were fantastic and the food was even better!

We stopped only one week and had a great time.

The staff were very helpful especially Ram & Ronny, they were great characters and made our stay very pleasant - so thank you to Ram & Ronny.

at the time of booking we had seen no photos of the place so we were cluless as to what to expect on our arrival but we were extremely pleased with the place.

* all areas of the hotel were very clean. went back to my room one morning and i was greeted by 5 members of staff cleaning my room.

* location was good. despite only be a 2 minute walk from the main strip when you were at the hotel you hardly heard any noise. plenty of places to eat nearby and about a 10 minute walk to the beach.

* one of the things we liked was that the hotel only had about 20 rooms so not hectic. although there isn't enough sun loungers for every person staying there it never posed a problem for us as we liked to go out and explore as i think most people did.

* could not fault our accommodation. a very good sized room and bathroom. decorated to a high standard. bed was massive and very comfy. also had a fridge which was perfect for keeping drinks cold and a safe to use free of charge. great to have a balcony which i think comes as standard with every room.

* i noticed a few previous comments regarding the breakfast. you had a choice of tea/coffee and orange/pineapple juice and 2 slices of toast, but you could pay for extras for example 2 poached eggs on toast was only 50 rupees.

* all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. they would ring taxis for us, advise which beaches were best to go to, peter the manager even took my husband on the back of his scooter so that we could book a few trips. can't imagine hotel managers in this country putting themselves out like that.

My girlfriend and I booked through Thomsons VERY last minute so didn't research this hotel too much. However when we arrived we were blown away with the quality of the rooms considering how much we'd paid. With flights we paid just over £600 for two weeks and for that price this hotel was fantastic.

The rooms are big and have a great bathroom. They're cleaned daily to a very high standard. The air conditioning is very good and the television has many channels to keep you in touch with the outside world. The staff are extremely friendly.

The breakfast is very poor so hardly worth mentioning. If you want a proper breakfast then go out of the hotel and you will get a decent breakfast for not more than about £1.

If you book through Thomson then DO NOT BOOK TRIPS through the rep. You can get equivalent trips much cheaper by either going to John's Boats or using a local cabbie.

The hotel's location is ok. It is out of the way (hence Hideaway) so it's very quiet. It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach.

The pool is good. Quite small but clean and a nice way to cool off after a day at the beach. The pool area itself gets very very hot as there's little wind and it's bit of a suntrap so a dip in the pool does the job.

I haven't got many negatives about the hotel apart from the breakfast really.

For some reason we also got free access to the WIFI internet. The hotel clearly had no idea about this which was an added bonus.

If you do book here then you will have a great stay although personally I would recommend South Goa over the busier and less pretty north.

Absolutely lovely hotel - rooms were amazing and immaculate. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly - restaurant and bar were very good quality. Swimming pool area was very luxurious. All in all a great boutique hotel in a lovely location - just away from the madness of Candolim and Calangute.

Room Tip: Needs better breakfast...it is the only thing than
