“Still the best fish + chips but watch the butter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2013

We visited here last year and really enjoyed it, so to make a change from curry we went this year. I have to say it great, the fish chips and mushy peas were as we remembered them really first class. I would have given it 5* but all four of us had butter in individual sealed pads that had obviously melted then chilled again. Last time this happened on holiday I ended up with the squiffs so none of us took the chance.

A small thing you may think, but it was the difference for not giving it top marks..

“Loveley Fish and Chips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

Tonys place gives a warm welcome and good food , we had a very nice fish chips and mushy peas (proper green mushy peas not the yellow split peas some use) my friend had a goan beef stew and said it was excellent, waiters and manager are smiling and helpful , competative prices, portions on the small side , a bigger fish , few more chips and a extra spoon of mushys would be perfect, Went to tonys a couple of times for a plain meal when spiced out, enjoyed by us all, just could have done with bigger portions for the guys. Recommended.

“Good food, good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2013

We always eat at Tony's a few times during our holiday.

My OH likes the fish dishes (in garlic, in white wine sauce, poached fish etc) and although we find the portions aren't huge, that suits his appetite.

I like the fish, chips and mushy peas as a change from more spicy food.
The veg noodles were excellent.

We did have a little problem with one of the dishes we ordered but Tony came over, sorted it out, apologised profusely and wouldn't charge us for any of the food.
It was just a one-off as I'd had the same dish before and it was delicious, so that didn't put us off returning.

Service is good, even when they are busy and the staff are very pleasant.
