Owner description: On the fort side of Diu town is the island's last remaining fully-functional church, St Paul's. Completed in 1610, the church has an excellent baroque facade and a very fine selection of wooden panelling and furniture inside, including an extravagantly carved 400 year old pulpit.

“Great Woodwork”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

I went there in the evening, it was closed. It looked impressive on outside so I returned in the morning hours when it was open. It is a grand old church said to be built by the Portuguese in 17th century. The woodwork inside is great and worth the visit.
Like all the historic attraction in Diu, it can be there is lot that can be improved upon on maintenance and curating.

Nice way to begin your stay. You can go here. Will take hardly 10-15 minutes of yours. Not very far off from Diu City.

“Portugese Church”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

It is an old Portuguese Church built in 1600 and subsequently renovated in 1807. The wooden carvings are imposing in the Church. The prayer hall is big and chairs are neatly arranged for prayer time. One can light a candle and get peace of mind here.

“St Paul's church”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

A heritage church and very peaceful. It is among the three churches built by the Portuguese in Diu. The park nearby has been developed very well and can be enjoyed with your children.

“awesome”

The church is huge. However, the crowd visiting the church needs to be sensitized to keep silent. There was a bunch of noisy Gujarati people who were actually posing alongside the statue of Jesus!
