The approach and access to the port is nicely maintained by the authorities of Diu.
There is no entry fee to the fort. Just park your vehicle and visit the fort.

Guides are available, but they do not hound you if you are not interested in taking services of one.

The fort is kept clean, but the structure is in dire need of coherent and congruent rehabilitation. Restoration to its previous glory will add wonders to it. The canon supports are broken and the canon barrels are kept unkempt to gather litter and to corrode in saline air.

The sea view from the fort ramparts are good and one can sit quietly on the fort wall sills to hear the water splashing and hitting the rocks close by.

The Panikotha is visible from the Fort and the Fort also has a light house to add to its glory.

Caution: Water storage pits should be secured to avoid any mishap there.

There is a Police station within the fort near the entrance gate. This is something which can be moved out of the fort to provide more access to the visitors.

One of the recent time Bollywood movie "Kai Po Che" scenes were shot there.

It sure has the potential to become a great tourist attraction, if preserved well. Maybe, a museum with pieces of history about the fort can be created there and some light and sound shows can be organized to attract more visitors.

Nicely maintained...a climb atop gives you a birds eye view of the island. The sea breeze is refreshing and seeing the unadulterated waves crash near the base is a delight.the canons are well preserved. The Fort also houses the jail --which is barred for travellers. There is a small but vibrant shiv mandir inside the fort. The architecture of the fort is very quaint--overall a serene place.

Diu Fort is facing the sea. Nice location. Good atmosphere around. Otherwise nothing much to see inside the fort.
