Its all about the view, the fort is in pretty decent shape and theres a light house inside so great views all around. If ur intersted in some local fish curry try the small stall outside the fort.

If you are visiting Diu, then Diu Fort is a must watch. You can see the central jail in between the beach from the entrance of the fort. Fort is very large. On the other side of the fort walls, there is a sea, so you can have some great photos standing at the Fort Walls!! Even the lighthouse is worth visiting at the top of the fort!!

It's a beautiful fort that can attract numerous visitors but is in pathetic condition. There is no fee to enter the fort. There is no guide to explain what's in it. People just come here for picnics, throw plastic garbage, have fun and leave. The historical importance is merely ignored. The only thing that you see around is plastic chips packets and water bottles thrown everywhere. Most of the walls and canons in the fort are mutilated by visitors.

You really should have great interest in history to understand this place, The design and architecture of Fort for reaching one end to the other and inside the fort will give you hints of thought process behind design of the fort. The symbols on war wapons and cannons and church inside the Fort will tell you mindset of soldiers and smiths and kings been GOD of WAR. This place better be under different dynesty to give it a cultural influence and way of living. It should always remain Union Territory.

Make sure that you get a good guide if you really want to enjoy the place

We had an excellent guide who explained all the finer points of the place. The fort has a lot more history to it than what appears from first sight. Well preserved too.
