“A Beautiful and Secluded place for just you family”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Dear Friends

I was at this hotel, where we had booked four rooms for our stay at Diu from 17/5/2013 to 19/5/2013 after me and my friends family visisted Gir Sancutuary and Somnath. The best thing i liked was it was near as well secluded from the choc-a-block-nagoa beach. This hotel was situated on Kodidhar beach where the shooting of Agneepath 2012 took place. We were with our families consisting of 8 adults and 7 children. The rooms were good and an atmosphere as if you are at your home was there. In the morning we the four families used to have tea at the out region of the room with chairs around and enjoying the fresh air flowing down from the sea.The best thing was the food,it may take forty five minutes from the time of the order, but it was was worth,as the food was of superb quality with no use of coloring agents. In the morning, you could just walk a few steps to the kodidhar beach and enjoy the morning sunrise and the cool breezing winds from the Arabian Sea.

So are there any more improvements that can be done to this property which is barely seven years old, well here are my two cents.

1)The TVs should be removed and wall mount lcd or led panels can be fitted to give more space in the room.
2)The service for morning tea could start early, because your property is at such place where people would like to enjoy the scenes and with that they would like a morning tea or coffee.
3)You should not charge the extra 2.5 % on card, you should bear that, you can afford that or as a goodwill gesture provide that service to your guests.
4)Last but not the least..maintain the qualities and simplicity as usual and we would like to repeat ourselves at you hotel and many more guest would do the same.

Thanks and Regards
Reni George

Dear Mr. Reni George,

Thank you for your wonderful review, we regret the delayed response.

Its a pleasure you enjoyed your stay with family and Hotel Palms. The quality and simplicity in accommodation and F&B comes from Palms ethics. We have always tried to make your stay better than earlier and with your motivation and suggestions we keep moving a step ahead in improving facilities and services. Now a shorter and closer CC road is been connected with Nagoa Beach.

about your suggestions:

The TV's are already being replaced with wall mounted LED TV in most of our rooms.

Service of early tea/breakfast is being started on request by 0600 AM a long back.

About the service charge on card payment we are positively in talk with management as we also don't want to put excess load on your pocket.

looking forward for many more visits with your family and friends.

Warm Regards,

Virendra & Team Palms

We were little apprehensive about the property but when we reached the location, it was mind blowing. we were six adults & three kids. The rooms we booked were one deluxe ac and one four bed room. The entry to the ac deluxe room was just close to the reception entry which is little awkward. There was no balcony kind of space in the room to enjoy the surrounding. the PSP of the property is its location, ambiance and its food. rest of things are very average. u get up in the morning, but u do not get tea till 8 am. neither they have given a kettle in the room nor they have any other arrangement. city is also pretty far so u r left with no option, but to wait for them to begin their day. A property like this should have some arrangement to have good time, some recreation room, swimming pool, etc. They also need to replace the old CRT TVs from the rooms. they make lot of background noise, some time more than the actual TV sound. Having said all the above, the property definitely is good for relaxing. There is nothing much to see in Diu so i feel that owners should improve the facilities inside and on the front beach so that one does not need to go anywhere.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side are quieter with a sitting space in the front.

I was skeptical about going to the property. But after reaching there I was fascinated by location of the hotel. Its simply amazing. They have seating arrangements and bonfire during night right in front of beach. Small things matter a lot when we are talking about entire experience. Food is cherry on the cake. We had dinner and morning breakfast at the hotel. The taste was simply mind blowing. Sometimes expensive restaurants fail to offer such amazing food. The staff is always ready to help.Especially mr Rajendra is amazing host. Rooms are small but good and clean.I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to chill out at Diu taking off their time from hectic schedule.

In case, you go to Nagoa beach in Diu, this is the best place, a bit remote form the sometimes crowded and dirty mainbeach. Clean rooms, always the noise of the sea in the background and good food. Its a calm and nice place.

Room Tip: Take one of the rooms directly facing the sea

There were several pros and cons about the hotel.
Pros: 1. The bar of the Hotel had variety of drinks available at very affordable prices.
2. The staff is very helpful, I asked them to help me out with the drink which I should have for cough and cold, they gave a very good advice.
3. If you want to hire a scooter or a bike, the vendor will come to Hotel to deliver it, and hotel staff will provide you the number of the vendor.

Cons:
1. No pick and drop facility. The cost of reaching to the Hotel from bus stand is Rs. 150/-. So in total add Rs. 300/- to your hotel tariff.
2. It is located near Nagoa Beach. Don’t go for a hotel near Nagoa beach, because all the tourist spots are far away from Nagoa beach, prefer a Hotel in Diu City.
3. The path from Nagoa to Hotel Palms (around 0.5 kms) is very uncomfortable and little scary at night.
4. They have a pet Dog at the hotel. When we entered the hotel after sight seeing on rented scooter at around 9 p.m, the dog started barking on us and kept coming closer. It felt like the dog will attack on us. My wife felt so horrified. The dog was just 2 meters away from us and kept on coming closer until the manager from the reception came and controlled it.

Apart from it the Hotel was OK and clean. Always rent a scooter because hiring an auto every time for sight seeing is very costly.

Dear Mr. Sunil,

Thank you for review, your review have helped us developing our services at the same time helped other travelers choosing our place to stay.

Your Pros. are heartily accepted and we keep working on making your stay more comfortable and personalized.

regarding your Cons:

1. We have arranged a pickup drop facility for guests already booked with us on prior notice basis.

2. About the location: people who want to reside by the beach & nature its a perfect choice, for those looking for busy city streets and easy excess to sight seeing and shops, we are 09 Kms away from the main town Diu on secluded beach near Nagoa called Khodidhar Beach.

3. The road is still the same kuttcha road, repaired and in good shape.. we believe it has its own country side charm..

4. about the pet dog: Yes, we are pet friendly and we also allow guests accompanying pets at our beach property.

What is Diu? For better or worse, this tiny ex-Portuguese island is the reason most travellers come to Gujarat. And while it might not quite be the tropical paradise they imagined, it has a quirky charm that will tame you from asking too many questions.

Diu also has fine beaches, whitewashed churches, an imposing fort, colourful streets, a gorgeous climate, lush seafood and giggly Gujarati weekenders who flock for the cheap booze and sunshine. Plus it’s the safest place to ride a car, unlike in Jaipur.

Me & my wife planned to visit Diu in the past week during too many holidays in between by my Alto CAR thr Ambaji, Dwarika and Somnath Darshan.

W've been staying for 2 days at the Hotel Palm Beach. The stay was really nice and so are the staff, in the end I was almost sorry n sad to leave.Upon arriving I found myself in a valley of smiles from the persons.
The room and services are excellent, clean and quiet (couldn't hear a noise). The bathroom is also spacious and very clean. The shower seems to be bigger than my house. The bed was one thing that if I could take him home, I would have done. Hard in the right places and comfortable....
Very rich and tasty food (all).
You can pretty much stay in the room all day without getting bored, unfortunately I was there for 2 days only.

These are the things that made me enjoy my stay at this hotel, but my warmest congratulations to the hotel for their choice of personnel. They know how to really make you feel at home, and if you need anything it is like asking a family member. Congratulations from the heart, you were fantastic.
Love to meet and stay again and again while in Diu.

Thanks GM Virenji and all staff.

Room Tip: My Corner room large and sunny.
