Small place. Quite dark and dingy. Could improve displays. Dusty and dirty surroundings. Interesting information. Could have guides/talks and improve gift shop.

Nice history of Chandigarh. Must visit - plan to spend at least 1-2 hours here. Lots of pictures and planning information about Chandigarh, Le Corbusier etc.

If you know nothing of how the city came about its essential to visit this place. It could be laid out a bit more sympathetically and lit a bit better but original drawings ,sketches and photos are fascinating.

Being a curatorial student, I have visited a lot of museums and exhibitions and I have to say that the Le Corbusier Centre in Chandigarh is definitely up there with the best of them. The opening text to the museum is one of the most honest I have come across. The building was formerly Le Corbusier's office and it is where he developed Chandigarh's master plan. I would say leave as much time to look around as possible as there is plenty to see and learn. You will be treated to quotes by Le Corbusier throughout the displays, adding to the feeling that he is speaking to you directly. One of my favourite rooms was the display of correspondence letters between Le Corbusier and Nehru, these have been cleverly enlarged for your viewing convenience. If you are visiting on a day when it is above 40 degrees, don't expect an A/C welcome! However, there is some relief to be found with its fans. A couple of rooms feel like they have been organised five minutes prior to arriving there, however, this almost adds to the charm of this museum. The only thing lacking was a presence of a staff member - some people might not mind this much. Since we were excited to be there and impressed with the museum, we wanted to speak to someone about its display. There is a guard at the door who will usher you into the museum and then to the souvenir shop afterwards. The contributions Le Corbusier made to the city of Chandigarh were extraordinary, and this museum does well to communicate this.
