This huge lake is must to see and better to be there in the evening. Early morning may be equally good. Apart from the lake there is jogging track, well maintain garden and a small food mall. After a whole day Chandigarh sightseeing, this small food mall is where one can get tasty refreshment.

Sukhna Lake is one of the greatest attraction in Chandigarh. It is a man-made lake and true to the core of Chandigarh, very clean and placid place.

The best walk I ever had. So clean and tidy. Beautiful lighting. Nice lakeside view. Numerous fingerlicking foodjoints and stalls. Place for kids to play. Overall a perfect peaceful evening free from the pollution and traffic of the city.

Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills (Shivalik hills) of the Himalayas. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills.

The lake was created by Le Corbusier and the Chief Engineer P L Verma. To preserve its tranquility. The lake is fringed by a golf course to the south, and Nek Chand's famous Rock Garden of Chandigarh to its west.

It is a nice place for a morning walk or for family outing . You can do boating in the lake or just sit around the lake and enjoy scenery and food.

The Sukhna lake is a vast body of placid water set in serene surroundings On a clear day you can see the mountains of Kasauli and Shimla in the background. There is a boat house which offers a boat ride along the lake. There is also a very nice walking track along the lake.Lots of , not so good, eating places are also there on the premises.

Though it is a must see place in Chandigarh it gets crowded at its entry point and parking is an issue.
