Its a must visit for everyone visiting Vizag.
What a creation of nature and once you enter the cave you will go nostalgic.

Though it will be tough for senior citizens/elderly people to climb up and down the hill inside the cave; but for the young guns don't give a second thought to it....Just go for it.

It will be good to keep a torch with you as there's not much light available inside the cave.

I will highly recommend this place.

A lifetime experience for anybody. Till now, I have seen many caves, but they are all no match to Borra caves. It is the best for people who want to have a good caving experience. Around 90 km from Visakhapatnam and the road is good (plain and ghat roads) offering you beautiful experience of valleys with yellow flowers and pleasant sceneries on the way. It is better to visit the caves with a guide's help to know the history. Wiil take atleast 3 hours for the visit in the caves.

Great caving experience, however, never visit this place during vacations as you will end up seeing less of the caves and expeirence more of shouting, screaming, pushing and shoving all around. Do attempt to crawl with the help of the guide ofcourse, an 80 ft. tunnel where you need to go on all fours. For the adventurous types, you may attempt to go for a 2 hr. trek down through the cave right to the waterfalls. However, the guide says that only 'Boyz' are allowed. Wonder if he ever encountered our friends from Womans lib. But I am sure you could do with a little coaxing or a threat if you may like.
An experience you must not miss if you are going to Vizag. Will take atleast 2 1/2 hrs. in the cave at a liesurely pace and a 3 hrs. plus drive from Vizag.

Chill and cool inside the Caves and lighting is perfect but what they charge for taking a camera inside is huge About 300 bugs.. its worthy to go and enjoy there... should plan to go in the morning by 09:00am or 10:00am and come back by 2pm... have lunch and then go to water fall....

Borra caves are 150 million year old natural structures, formed when water flowing over limestone cliffs bored into the rocks, and carved out caves. The place has been developed tastefully into a tourist destination. There is artificial lighting inside, but, it is done sensibly ; so that it doesn't look garish or disturb the bats that live within the caves. There are stalactites and stalagmites inside the caves; in myriad shapes and fantastic formations. Once inside, one is transported to a different universe; and one feels overawed at the thought that these rocks have been in existence for over 150 million years, a silent unchanged witness to all the change around them ! Over all, a marvelous place, that takes you to a different age - well worth a visit!
Tip : Do take a guide. They are polite, they do not charge much, they come equipped with a flashlight and point out various details that one might miss.
