It must have been a nice monument and it's the symbol of Hyderabad, but maintenance is not something strong in India and the proof of that is Charminar. A pity, full of grafitty and the authorities haven't done anything about it. It's falling to pieces.

I had been to Charminar during Ramzan season. Needless to say about the liveliness of this place in this season. I had heard a lot about the night bazaars and the bangle bazaars. Just thought of giving a try and had gone there by 11pm . Trust me , you would not believe the time unless you keep tracking the time in your watch. Colorful streets filled with bangle shops and small jewel shops selling pearl ornaments attract localites as well as tourists. We had re energized ourselves by having hot Irani Chai from the famous Nimrah Cafe in the middle of the night. Only when we drove out the area , we came to know that it was 3 in the morning.

The Charminar was a great thing to see and my favourite was the choodi bazaar where I buy those earthen bangles studded with colorful stones, an old art of yesteryears.

Located in the old city this well preserved structure was built in the late 1500's. It has been given a new look at night and that is the best time to visit after the heavy, heavy traffic has cleared. This area has a large Muslim population. It is a good place to browse the numerous pearl shops.
