This was a very beautiful palace and one of the good places in Hyderabad. If you're interested to witness the royal life of people who never thought or considered normal people. Spent all natural and financial resources of our country. You will see all the examples of what shouldn't have happened in India. You will witness how these royal people got attracted to foreign culture and forcefully mixed it with Indian culture and they are the people who are responsible that we aren't authentic anymore or we don't even know that cause we have always experienced the hybrid culture.

This Palace is a great place to learn some amazing history about India. The artwork here helps tell the story and the architecture will help you understand many inspirations of the modern world.

Visited the Palace again on my latest visit to Hyderabad,

Once we enter the palace, the first comes up is the photo studio, they will dress you up in traditional clothes like royal kings & queens & take photo of you in nominal charges, this one is not to be missed as it is unique, where else can you dress like king & queen & take photos,

Now as we move further, the palace building you can see with superb artistic walls & ceiling, you can see the big lights jhoomer which are stunning & beautiful, then there are all the utensils sort of museum, they are also amazing & stunning, similarly there are many more palace, like aftab mahal, mahtap mahal, not all are open, & one can only peep in them, then there is a old car museum, where you can see the big cars Napier, & other iconic cars,

Of course it involves a lot of walking inside, but its worth as you can see so many things inside it.

Nice place for history lovers. If you are struggling to spend half day in Hyderabad, you can visit this place. I loved the vintage car section for seeing century old Rolce Royce , fiat etc.

The Chowmahalla Palace is worth exploring unhurriedly. You can easily spend 3-4 hours. There are old photographs, antique cars and bikes, a display of arms used by the royalty, fine-dining china, crafts, furniture... the list goes on. Entry fee is nominal (different charges for Indians and foreign nationals) and the place is a sprawling complex of four “palaces” (hence the name).

Food options inside are limited. Carry water. You will walk through the gift store first and only then reach the palaces. The palaces are grand outside and in, so many many photo ops. The throne room with the magnificient chandeliers is amazing. There is a lot about the history explained along photographs which is worth reading, including how the colours of the palace (mustard yellow and white themed) came about. Young kids (<6) may find the insides tiring and boring. There’s lots of running around space outside in the gardens.

My kids loved the antique cars (the Rolls Royces, Impalas),motorcycles and horsecarts. The weapons room was fascinating as well. Would highly recommend!

Chowmahalla Palace is probably the best palace I have visited in India. It is very huge and well maintained. The rooms are filled with costly items like chandeliers, Belgian glass all used by the Nizam. There is also a collection of cars used by the Nizams which include premium Rolls-Royce. A must visit for all people. The palace is nearly 2.5 km from Charminar.

This was the residential place for the Nizams. Fabulous collection of Cars and Armours. Awesome architectural display. So low profile from outside but so gorgeous inside. Please do visit if you are in Hyderabad.
