If you want to stay away from the hustle of the city... Just sit in leisure and enjoy the breeze and view of the ocean... Watch a lovely sunrise with ur morning tea.. Or have a bottle of wine under the stars.. This is the place to be in port blair... Food in the restaurant is okay...room service is good.. Stuffs are helpful.. Rooms are clean and well maintained.. Clean bath rooms and toilets..

we stayed in Bamboo Cottage. The entire resort is located above a mini hill top which gives the entire view of the Port Blair Jetty. The facilities in room are great as described in hotel features.Building is an old one but it was also good. The lodge's own restaurant atop the hill have a good scenic view of jetty and the light house. The food was great and worth the money spent there.Room service was good

Room Tip: Bamboo cottages have good view

I stayed at a semi-deluxe for a night and at an EVC (Bamboo Cottage) for 4 nights on my honeymoon trip to Andamans. The rooms were quite spacious, neatly maintained, and with very quiet and serene natural surroundings. The breakfast buffet menu was kinda repetitive. Wi-fi connectivity was available only near the reception area. The Assistant Manager, Mr Dillyraj deserves a special mention for helping us out with the planning up of tour itinerary and arranging local transport on all days.

Stayed there during our honeymoon during December, 2015. After a lot of research part of which included browsing through Tripadvisor reviews zeroed in on Megapode, Port Blair for stay at Port Blair. Must admit I was a little apprehensive given the fact that ultimately its a A&N Govt owned property (through a Company) and I had my doubts about service. However the somewhat average service was offset by a wonderful Nicobari Deluxe cottage. The room was a standalone room, ideal for us with a beautiful marina view. In case you are looking for a standalone room go for 101. The property is quite expansive and restaurant just about ok.

Mostly flight timings and Ferry timings are such that, you have to stay for 1 night on arrival in Port Blair before you go to Havelock.I have stayed at Megapode Nest (some call it Megapode resort) from 7Feb- 8Feb
Hotel location is pretty good. You can have bird eye view of Phoenix jetty from hotel. Hotel staff is cooperative. Especially hotel manager helped with all local travel bookings. Now coming back to hotel rooms, rooms were clean. As this property is old, you can see decaying effects on walls. I would suggest Megapode management to raise bar of cleanliess, otherwise the property is great place to stay
Restaurent food was good. Also they have bar. So you can enjoy your drinks in evening in open area in restaurent. If you want to stay at reasonable hotel near to Phoenix jetty, this is pretty good option
