I stayed at Noble Homestay for one day on my way to Havelock Island. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely! At INR 800 a night, you're getting great value for money here.

The homestay is fairly close to the airport, the boat jetty, the bus stand and the bazaar, so you're usually about a ''50-rupee ride'' from wherever it is you may want to go.

The room I had was spacious, comfortable and clean. Two of the rooms share one bathroom. This has its downsides, and you might want to consider requesting a room that is more self-contained.

Hospitality is another big plus. Mrs Noble is an excellent hostess who makes great meals and great conversation. The meal charges are very reasonable - INR 200 for dinner and INR 100 for breakfast. I ate a hearty dinner and slept like a log that night.

All in all, I think Noble Homestay is an excellent option, especially if you plan to stay in Port Blair for several days.

this is one of the finest home stay's i have ever seen throughout the country. i had already booked accommodation somewhere else, but later regretted that "how i wish, i would have booked with the noble's". not only was the food delicious and finger smacking but also the hospitality was beyond any doubt, commendable. the home stay firs every budget and one would not even think of staying anywhere else, if they had the delicacies made by mam. hats off.....will pay you a visit very soon. god bless and my love will always be with you

Room Tip: the accommodation is perfectly located. away from the hustle bustle of the city and is located very...

This homestay is within 3-4 km (or Rs. 50 auto rickshaw ride) of all amenities and local tourist attractions such as ferry, bus stand, market, Cellular jail etcetera.

Mrs. Noble, the owner, is an excellent cook (pester her for a Parsi dish), local guide, farmer, an old timer here and conversationalist all-in-one.

Even if you get the room downstairs, take it. Meera, who will cook for you, is a remarkable cook of many simple yet tasty Indian dishes. Worth looking forward to if you like such food.

Room Tip: Book early as there is a busy diary in season. Request her for one of rooms upstairs, if availab...

My husband and I have just returned from the beautiful Andaman Islands. If you are looking for a transit stay between flights or island hopping then look no further than Dinaz's homestay. A mere 4 kms and a 10 min drive from both the airport and ferry pier, here is a comfortable home with clean bed sheets, meal options and a lovely terrace to sip coffee on!
But the main attraction is truly if you can get the owner Dinaz to share her ever so enviable water bunglow for a night or two ( or even more ). This bunglow sits on stilts in the middle of the backwaters with her very own spice island as a back drop. It has no electricity but plenty of fresh water and cooking gas. The 2004 tsunami wrecked the jetty and took with it all from the house ( furniture and doors alike ) but the beautiful house thankfully stood the wrath of it all. Do plan for this very special experience and throw in a couple extra days for it. Dinaz will be happy to answer your queries well before you arrive to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Happy holidays!

Danaj noble is great woman

what can be better than sleeping in a big bed, have shower frim a normal bath with hot water (which is so rare in andaman) and then having great dinner with yammy food and this interesting woman

why speny money on some regular guesthouse when you can have a real experience of being local

prices: 800 per night
dinner: 200
launch: 200
breakfast: 100

one very important thing: the bath room is connected to different rooms. but it is possible to lock the toielt room while using it from inside.
if it really bothers you , you can ask Danaj hoe many guests are booked for the night and if she will answer that there is no one in the room near you then it means the bathroom is only yours. don't let this preventing you from visiting this amazing house

If Port Blair is not your main destination but your transit point to or from Havelock Island or any of the other islands, then you are probably looking for an inexpensive, comfortable place just for the night.

Noble Homestay is an ideal option that provides a 'home away from home' atmosphere. The large bungalow is home to Mrs. Noble and her family and they offer four rooms for guests at a very economical rate.

The rooms (all non a/c and without televisions) are large, airy and bright. The Nobles have a notice in each room that requests guests to treat their home with care; feel free to join them in the main house to watch television; ask about internet use and pre-order meals.

We did not meet Mrs. Noble as she was traveling but her efficient caretaker Mohan and his wife saw to it that we were comfortable. Mohan's wife is an excellent cook and produced a delicious 5 course dinner. The home style cooking and flavors of this meal were so welcome after a week of eating out at restaurants. Her south Indian breakfast was also excellent.

Mohan was very resourceful and helped us organize our day of birding around Port Blair. He got us in touch with a yellow and black taxi driver who drove us to Chidiya Tapu and Wandoor at a fraction of the cost we would have paid if we had hired a private taxi. Mohan also gave us information on the best way to get to Mt. Harriet (which from Noble house is a very short rick/bus-ferry-jeep) ride away.

This homestay is not in the center of town. It is located in a residential area on a hill with terrace views of the sea. However it provides a lovely feel of being 'at home' and is a 10 minute ride by rick or 30 minute walk away from the main market.

The only not so pleasant experience to an other wise great 2 night stay at Noble was that the large bathroom attached to the room we stayed in, on the top floor, we were later told we would have to share with a family who would be in the adjoining room. This was a bit of a let down. The bathroom has two access doors which means each time you want to use it you have to lock the neighbors access and then remember to open it post use. Once you get used to that it's ok. It could however get very annoying if the other guests are messy or if you are desperate to use a restroom (Mohan was kind enough to let me use one of the other loos in the house). These rooms are ideal for families that need two rooms.

I would recommend Noble Homestay as it is comfortable, clean and homely.

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floor have direct access to the bathroom. Ask for those. The main room also has...
