The Anapurna became a very firm favourite - it was recommended by a tuk tuk driver and he was not wrong. It seems to be a local institution. (I later met a Port Blairite working in a Taj in Chennai and he said it was really loved by locals).
It is busy, crowded, this means you don't have to wait long to get a table. It is really cool (air con) and very (very) dark inside which on one unbelievably hot bright day was so welcome in itself . . . The food was simply fantastic. A huge menu (some only available at certain times of day). We ate here twice - day and night. Everything we had was just great - fresh, carefully spiced, plenty etc. I loved it.
