Description: All the way goes to Rome, and in Batumi all the way to cafe "Privet iz Batuma". In August 2003 in Batumi was opened cafe, on the place of old photo studio, with the perfect design and service. The cafe design is based on the French retro style. The menu includes a wide variety of European and Georgian dishes. The cafe`s confectionery offers world famous desserts, croissans and bakes. The bartender team is working daily to offer consumers a healthy non-alcohol and alcohol beverage. Cafe "Private is Batuma" is the city's business card, it is distinguished by the huge number of guests. Especially during the summer period the number of Georgian and foreign guests is observable.

“Very nice but not amazing”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Cakes are quite good, probably best in Batumi, choice is large. Location is very good (even if some drifters are within inches). Service is ok, not amazing. Strangely they had no black tea - only "green" and "fruit". Didnt try other food, but definitely will come back

“One place that's always got folks in it...”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

Batumi is filled with cafes, but once the tourist season ends, things get a little quiet in many of them; the waitstaff often outnumbers the guests.. One place that seems to have a constant draw is this French-looking cafe on a convenient corner in Old Batumi. Lovely outside space for balmy evenings; when things get colder, it could get smokey inside. The meal I had was excellent, but the name didn't match what I would have thought. It was billed as a "Chicken Caesar," but it was more like a nice green salad with delicious hunks of roast chicken, some tomatoes and cukes, a lovely light dressing, but no anchovies or traditional Caesar dressing in sight. Downside: there is *an extensive menu*, but the items are not described in English - "Fantasy Salad," for example. What might this be? The daily special is something called by the name of the restaurant, but it consists of chicken, ham, and egg. Who knew? Go with a local or find one of the waitstaff who speaks English to decipher the menu, and then sit back and let the relaxing pace (!) of Georgian life go by. Well-priced beer and wine, a fine selection of desserts, and a feeling of How It Used To Be round out the picture. I'll be back.

“Busy cafe, great food- snail slow service”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Considering this cafe is always busy, I expected the service to be a little slow but there are a lot of staff and it was extremely slow- too slow to be able to enjoy my meal. The water came out after about 20 minutes- I had time to drink the whole thing before the meal arrived 30 minutes later- only it was the wrong thing. After finishing that, the other half of the meal arrived. It would have been nice to have all three parts served together- they were not separate courses. However there is a good range of food and it was tasty. A lot of Russian foods on the menu like bliiny (pancakes) and soups as well as Georgian cheese breads. I prefered to sit outside, music was quite loud and it was quite smokey inside.

“Didn't want to stay”
Reviewed May 4, 2012

Dropped there during the day... It wasn't crowded, we were reading a menu for 3-4 minutes, but nobody came. We left.
Then dropped there late at night... A lot of people were there, but we felt uncomfortable and left again.
This cafe is mentioned as "recommended" in different guidebooks, but we didn't understand why. Soviet dishes? As persons from past-soviet country, we found only 2 "soviet" dishes: chicken Kiev and Kiev cake. Pizza and cheesecake are NOT a soviet dish, btw:))
