“Highlight of our trip to Gambia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

Our family spent Christmas and New Year in the Gambia and had five fantastic days with our guide Abdoulie and Tilly's tours. We had two nights at Bird Safari Camp in Janjanbureh followed by two nights at the chimp project at Baboon Island. We emailed Jackie from the UK and she was very helpful with suggestions for our itinerary before we left. I would strongly recommend using Tilly's tours if you intend to travel around the country. Jackie customised our trip for us as we wanted to go to Basse and Janjanbureh as well as the chimp project. As promised we saw chimps, hippos, crocodiles and lots of other amazing wildlife and birds. Don't just stay on the coast - Gambia has much more to offer.

“Fantastic trip with Tilly's Tours”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

We organised a three day trip inland from the coast to Bintang Balong with Tilly's Tours and travelled with our guide, Ebou and driver, Mohammed who were both great fun. Ebou is a real 'fixer' and great character - nothing was too much trouble for these guys and we more or less planned our own itinerary, enabling us to visit local villages and make unscheduled stops along the way. Jackie, the owner, checked in regularly with Ebou while we were away to make sure everything was running smoothly. We were also lucky enough to be invited out with Jackie, staff and friends for a Boxing Day cruise up the river - had a great day!

“Avoid the Georgetown trip”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

We booked to go to Georgetown with Tilly's Tours. It wasn't a cheap trip so we expected a good service but didn't get it. We were told the camp we stayed at overnight was "lovely" and all food on the trip was provided. The camp was awful, the bedding filthy, we were kept awake half the night by mice eating our biscuits. We could take all that in our stride but what we couldn't accept was the trip back from Georgetown to Senegambia with no drinks or food provided.
The breakfast provided at the camp was very meagre so we were looking forward to stopping for lunch. It didn't happen so after several hours driving we asked about lunch and were told that nothing was provided on the way back. We asked the driver to stop and bought food and drinks for ourselves and the driver. Luckily for the owner she was in England at the time or she would have been told what we thought of Tilly's Terrible Tours.

“Best value for money in The Gambia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2012

I went on several trips with Tilly's Tours and I can safely say that Jackie gets more of a buzz from seeing her customers happy than she does from taking money from them. It's all about customer service and Jackie and her team go to remarkable lengths to show people the REAL Gambia. Every trip is meticulously planned around making sure the customer goes away happy and enlightened. She even has time to do charity work for a local Gambian village and welcomes any help from interested guests. Good on you Jackie - Gambia should be proud you are there!!!
