“Not great”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Recently visited El Sol following a recommendation.
We were visiting as part of a large group and a large table was quickly made up for us outside.
Service was friendly and but not the fastest.
Food, passable but certainly nothing to write home about. Between us we had a large variety of main courses however the Mexican dishes were not fantastic all looking very similar... We weren't very impressed when two dishes were presented and the waiter asked us to cut then to confirm which was chicken and which was beef.

Fajitas, don't bother. Disappointing selection of accompliaments- very small amount of sour cream, bit of grated cheddar and some very sad shredded lettuce. Suggest some salsa and guacamole? Tortillas were especially very poor-more like fried pancakes...greasy.

We found the food generally very salty.

“Try the Tapas”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

El Sol offers a nice variety of tapas. Ordering a variety to share can make for a nice meal on their own. Main dishes are great too, tasty and good sized portions.

“Eating out in the Kololi area of The Gambia”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Although it's classed as a Mexican restaurant we we're recommend to try the peppered steak, which having eaten fish all week we did. Cooked brilliantly and a sauce to die for, followed by a chocolate fondant the whole meal plus good wine and nice people, definitely the place to eat in Kololi. John & Eileen Manchester.

“Really lovely”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

My husband and I went here as part of the fine round package at the kombo. We were greeted warmly, we ordered a selection of tapas which were really good, we were both too full for a sweet, but we would definitely love to how back again.
