we visited jojo's twice during our stay.
first the cons.
if you overlook the very obvious downsides mentioned by previous reviews. the darkness of the space, there isn't enough light, you can barely see the menu, bringing a flashlight helps.
live music is just slightly too loud.
the inattentiveness of the waiting staff. we had to get up from the table quite a few times to get their attention. also be prepared to wait a while for your meal. i think it was nearly an hour before we got ours.
now the pros
the dishes are imaginative, 'fillet of pork with cranberry and apple, served with wholegrain mustard and jewlbrew sauce. very nice!
the pudding warm pear tart delicous, pastry buttery and crumbly short as it should be with a satisfying crack as you bite into it.
the cooking and ingredients make this place well worth a visit, such a pity about the rest.

Visited Jojo's twice when on holiday in Gambia and it did not disappoint.
The service was great, very attentive. My BF broke his flip flop on the way there and they even managed to fix it, nothing was a problem!
Great choice of wine list. They have live music every evening, which adds to the atmosphere.
Could not fault the food. Warm home made bread was served whilst you wait. Calamary was delicious as were the spring rolls for starters. We ordered fish on both occasions, it was cooked to perfection, just melted in the mouth.
Would highly recommend Jojo's

Our second visit to Gambia and we made a bee line for Jojo's at the first opportunity. We were not dissapointed, proving consistency since our last visit three years ago. This is the place to go for a special meal, there is both inside and outside eating and the ambience with a top class band playing is fantastic. The food is top drawer be it local fish or beatifully cooked melt in your mouth steak. The wine at £12 a bottle is very palletable and the staff are really friendly and attentive. As you can gather we are fans of this place but with justification. Great place not to be missed.
