“Best evening out in Gambia”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

I had a great time here, and really enjoyed the citron presse and tapas. The warm and friendly staff and chilled out vibe, together with the great food and drinks made this my favourite choice for an afternoon or night out in Gambia. Well done to the owners!

“If only there was a Gaya in The Hague ...”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

Gaya is one of my favourite places in Gambia- a holiday is always incomplete without at least a few Gaya trips! I have been going to Gaya for so many years that I have lost count and I keep going back for a few simple reasons - the concept is fabulous as the restaurant/ cafe is in the midst of art rather than art as the finishing touch, it strikes the right balance of chic and cozy at the same time, gorgeous art pieces to enjoy in the moment or purchase, amazing food (there is always something new and appetising, which I honestly cannot get enough of), you can count on the good and helpful service. I especially enjoy the cocktails/ juices and the desserts! You always feel appreciated at Gaya, it is one of my top favourite cafes/ restaurants.

Thank you for your kind words. Over the years, we have had customers, like yourself, who enjoyed our restaurant so much that they have wished us to open in many cities. We have been asked to open in London, Manchester, Leeds, and Brighton in England. We have had clients asking us to open in so many cities and towns worldwide, that at times I wish that I could have a travelling Gaya Art Cafe; open in a city for a year then move on to another city. That way, the entire Gaya team would get to travel and do what we enjoy doing most while we travel; cooking, serving and enjoying ourselves while we do this. Now how about that for a wish? One year in Monteral, the next in the Hague then perhaps the next in Melbourne.

“Tiltilates the senses”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants i have ever eaten at. The atmosphere and decor is chic and cosy atbthe same time. The staff and owners make you feel at home and welcome u with a cold towel on a hot day

Citron presse and begay chepe juice are refreshing on a hot day not to mention the amazing daquaris which can come non alcoholics.

The menu options are so diverse u can have a whole meal just from tapas. The spicy calamares, chicken wings, plantains, prawn springrolls and goat cheese with caramelised onions are a must amongst all the other delicious tapas.

For the mains the ida burger is the best burger ive ever had gourmet. The pepper steak delicious and the prawn spaghetti just amazing. The goat cheese salad is unique and creative. The portions are absolutely huge.

If you have space for dessert you must have the butter scotch cheese cake and the chocolate brownie followed by a mocha

This is the place to go to in the gambia not once not twice but thrice so you can sample alll the amazing dishes. Il

“Gaya Art Cafe - Love it!”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Gaya Art Cafe is easy to find as it is on the main highway near the Senegambia Craft Market. Two of my favourite places to go when in Gambia and I am there twice a year. The food at Gaya is first rate, service is good and staff polite. The menu is excellent and the meals made with quality ingredients. Atmosphere is good and they can accomodate corporate parties, and family celebrations too. Warm pecan nut brownies to die for, tapas, cocktails... even non-alcoholic ones and boy do they taste good! I'm heading back there soon as I know I will enjoy eating there again. Thoroughly recommend it.
