Our first visit was to celebrate our vow renewal earlier in the day. The food was exquisite - melt in your mouth filet mignon, with a great wine list. Like all dining in Tahiti it is expensive, but worth it.The service was great.
They also have a very extensive Chinese menu, but we didn't try it.
The second visit was quite disappointing. Not sure if he had staff issues, but it took ages to get served with just the menus. Our first two choices of wine were not available and when we finally got to order it took a very long time to be served. The food however was still wonderful.
While we were waiting to be taken back to the resort, we over heard one lady complain when her meal arrived, that they had been waiting for an hour and a half!
Disappointing that no apologies were made.

Thank Carol B

We had an extremely poor experience at this restaurant and advise you to avoid it at all costs. Since it was our anniversary we decided to celebrate the evening there because of the many positive reviews. What a mistake! The hotel concierge called in advance to inquire for us about the corkage fee. The concierge was told it was $22. We saved a bottle of champagne to drink at this restaurant since we were told that the restaurant served wine but no champagne (stange policy in a French terittory).

The restaurant provides free van transportation from the hotels. They packed everyone in like sardines and made us wait an extra hour at the end so they could repack the van and not have to make extra trips.

When we arrived, we took out our bottle of champagne and were told by the waitress that the corkage fee was $55. When we complained that the hotel concierge was told the corkage was $22, the waitress replied that this fee is for wine, but for champagne the fee is $55. This was outrageous and we knew we were being ripped off. We dine very frequently and nowhere in the world have we encountered a restaurant were the corkage fee depends on what you drink. It appears that because they do not carry champagne they think they can rip you off if you want to celebrate a special occasion. We asked to speak to the owner or manager. The owner was there but refused to speak to us. We then said we did not want to eat there and requested they take us back to our hotel. They refused, saying if we did not eat there, we had to call a taxi. Taxis are very expensive when called and can take a very long time to arrive, so we were held hostage and had to eat there. We did not drink the champagne as we were not going to get ripped off like this. Because they didn't have champagne on the menu, it is not like we could have ordered it from them. This makes the outrageous corkage fee even more egregious.
Needless to say, our "special" evening was ruined.

The meal was mediocre. They were out of so many items on the menu despite the fact that we were there early in the evening. We had wanted to order swordfish and they informed us they were out of that.

We started with the shrimp and avocado salad which was tasty. We then had the onion soup which was just OK. Next, because so many reviewers recommended it, we ordered the shrimp and scallop in a puffed pastry main dish. It was extremely bland in a very bland sauce. Very ordinary. Despite being served in a rich sauce, the sauce itself was so bland that we had to add a ton of pepper to give it some taste. The vegetables were plain green beans (canned?) and carrots. When it came to dessert, they informed us that they had run out of eggs (!) and thus any dessert that contained eggs was not available (This was aoubt 75% of the dessert menu.). We ended up eating ice cream which was icy. We ordered a cappucino but were told when the ice cream arrived that there was some problem in making the cappucino and we would have to wait a while to get it. We finally gave up on the cappucino and didn't have it.

The meal was expensive (especialy for the quality of the food) and there was little positive to say about this experience. My advice is to go elsewhere!

My wife and I are vegetarian and had no problems finding options at this great restaurant. It was recommended by the concierge desk at the Sofitel. The restaurant provides free pickup and drop off from the Sofitel (and i assume other nearby resorts). We had the goat cheese salad and the chow mein and both were perfect. They have an extensive wine list as well. The food is pricey all over Tahiti and Moorea and this was no exception. We would have gone again but the owners shut the place down for 2 weeks to Black Friday shopping in LA (go figure). Worth a visit.

Excellent French sauce on fresh local fish. Soft tropical breezes flowing through the outdoor dining room has us lingering after our meal.

As a part time residents of Moorea for over 35 years we love the Mahogany.
We know they have the best spring rolls on the island. Their menu also has
many other choices besides Chinese. Always a great dinning adventure.
