We recently spent 1 night at the Abiquiu Inn with our family. We had 2 casitas in the back of the property. Let me begin by stating that we stayed at the nearby Ghost Ranch a few years ago and vowed never to go back there. While the setting at GR is absolutely spectacular, the accommodations and, especially, food (!) were completely unacceptable. The Abiquiu Inn fit the bill in terms of the comfort and decor of the rooms (the casitas have kitchenettes with small fridge, microwave, sink, dishes and dining table), and the Cafe Abiquiu offers very good meals. The setting, however, was a disappointment. You are on a small and not very scenic patch of land just off the busy Route 84, and the traffic noise is surprisingly LOUD almost all night long. It's not the sort of place where you really would want to hang out and relax. In the final analysis, we thought the rates were high at the Abiquiu Inn, in terms of what you get in return.
