We arrived at about 5pm on a crystal-clear afternoon and were immediately transfixed by the serene beauty of Plaza Blanca. There were no other visitors so we walked in silence among the towering white cliffs alternately looking up at the amazing formations and down at the colorful variety of rocks and stones. I don't think we could have found Plaza Blanca on our own - the turnoff isn't well marked, although the area is visible from the highway - so were grateful that our friend who'd been there before served as navigator. Definitely worth a day trip. Bring your camera, water, sunscreen and sense of wonder.
