“Great place for a great meal”

I love the lautoka pub for a meal. Has everything from goat curry, to chow Minh to burger and fries or pizza and pasta. And all it very tasty.

Be careful when ordering the pizza and pasta as it appears to be cooked in a different kitchen or something and doesn't come out at the same time as everything else.

The sign on the door re rotary meeting has the incorrect time. The rotary club meets there at 6.30pm on Wednesday night, and is a very small but very active club.

“Tasty meals, good service and excellent value”
Reviewed June 14, 2011

It was our first night in Fiji when we dined at the Seaview Restaurant in the Lautoka Hotel. Maybe our judgement is clouded by the fact that we had just landed and were on a natural high, but we just can't fault this place. Our meals were delicious and well presented, the service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere is comfortably relaxed and the prices were so, so cheap. We ordered Ika Vaka lolo FJD9.50, which is fish in coconut milk, served with Dalo (a root vegetable) and lamb curry FJD12 served with all the condiments and extras you would expect in an Indian Restaurant. Both meals were a good size and delicious. I always love a good curry with all the extras, but the Ika Vaka lolo was a hit with both of us. Fiji Bitter was FJD3.80 and Vodka with lemonade was FJD6.40. They serve a wide variety of other meals, most of which I can't remember, but we did see them bringing out large pizzas to family groups. Personally, we prefer to order something with a bit of a local flavour when we travel, but there seemed to be something for everyone. You could safely bring your kids here and they would find something to eat.

The place has a narrow corner entrance and from the outside and at night it looked a bit dark and gloomy with dark, barred windows. But inside it opens up into a nice bright space with a friendly atmosphere.

We were there on a Sunday night and it seemed quite popular with locals and tourists. There's not much open on Sunday nights, so we felt pretty lucky because this was where we heading anyway after reading about the place in the Trip Advisor Forums.

We had a very relaxed and pleasant evening here, that really made our first night great. We were sorry that we only had one night in Lautoka, but. If we ever return to Fiji, we'll be back.
