Great locally-run small resort. The staff were the highlight, all very kind and welcoming, and very willing to help with activities, from taking me solo snorkelling with a great deal of care, to carrying my kayak, to a good massage. The food was good - plain healthy breakfasts, and all other meals locally sourced food and recipes. Also lots of great fresh fruit juices and cold beers.
The rooms were large and clean and had lovely little relaxing balconies. Very cheaply furnished inside, but this is normal for a local place. Overall I had a very relaxing 4 day break, thank you.

We spent a week at the resort as the home base for diving the reefs of Fiji. The location was perfect, just a short 1 mile walk to town if you want food, drink or sundries and a short cab ride to the Cousteau resort for diving. The owners, JJ and Delia are a delight and know the island and the people there well. JJ is always out for tennis if you play. I cannot say enough good things about the staff there. From Carlos, Raj, Keni and all the others, they remember your name, look out for you and always greet you with a boisterous "bula" when they see you. The accommodations were very nice and well kept and the grounds beautiful. Watch out for the bird alarm as the birds like to welcome the sun every morning.

I highly recommend the Daku Resort as a place to stay to get away, relax, unwind, and find your inner peace.

From the moment of arrival at the Savusavu "Airport" to our departure we were looked after with consummate care. Although we had come with a group primarily to snorkel the heavy rains required major adjustments of our schedules, which our host J.J. in coordination with our group leader and Keni, the property manager, endeavored to accomplish. We would most definitely love to return--just pray for less rain.

We enjoyed our extended stay ( 6 weeks) at the Daku Resort tremendously. We stay in a wonderful bay view pool house which had ample room, a small kitchen for meals and a great little pool to cool off in. The resort in situated on a wonderful property which provides hiking, bird watching and great large pool for just relaxing around with a book. The resort provides many activities including kayaking, a boat that will take you snorkeling as well as guided trips to the neighboring sites like the native villages, waterfalls etc. The food provided by the resort was particularly good and extremely healthly. Only fresh food was served and some great Figian dishes were our favorites. The resort is also close to the town of Savusavu (about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute cab ride) which provides additional activities and food choices. When it is all said and done, what really made our stay at the Daku special was the people. From the staff Kenai and Mereoni and their family, who treated us like family, and the owners JJ and Delia made our stay very special.

We recently spent 2 weeks at Daku resort in a 2 bedroomed bungalow with our own private swimming pool and wonderful water views - it was incredibly relaxing, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our stay did not correspond with any of the many courses they hold there which was a pity so we will have to go back! Carlo is a wonderful masseur, and the front office staff are always available with local advice, fresh coconut or just a chat. Fiji is certainly one of the happiest and friendliest places in the world.

Room Tip: Some of the bungalows have their own pool - highly recommend this option if you can get one!

Your day starts with some mindful yoga, practiced in a studio nested on top of the mountain, and over looking the sea. Unbeatable view. Shortly after, the incredibly friendly staff at Daku will get you going with a no-frills breakfast, enjoyed in a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere. And then, Delia and JJ will simply guide you on how to best enjoy their paradise with great activities (be sure to try the kayak on the sea - breathtaking). But you don't want to miss lunch nor dinner: the detox undertaken in the morning with the yoga practice enters its second phase with some incredibly tasty vegetarian options during meal times, leveraging fresh (and very often, organic) vegetables from the local market. You won't want to leave.

Just a few steps away from the sea Daku is in a most beautiful location. The accommodation is beautiful ~ you have your own little house near trees, tweeting birds, the pool with an ocean view. Blissful and tranquil. The hosts were superb and considering I travelled from the UK to Fiji alone. I was well taken care of at meal times and to know all the things happening in the local area if I had any interest to take on events was fantastic. The rooms were beautifully presented although the meals and breakfasts were sufficient. I only used my room for tea or coffee. There is wifi connection at the lobby area and the staff were beautiful souls. Showers were fantastic to refresh and the fresh fruit platters. A truly amazing experience that will stay with me always x

Room Tip: ocean view is truly beautiful x
