“Definately the sweet life”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

The boutique resort feels like home from the moment you arrive to the traditional Fijian goodbye. Hosts Margaret and Luigi bring the sweet life to you in their attention to detail. The bures each have individually unique amenities some with bath tubs, all with sitting areas, kitchens decks and amazing views of Fiji's colorful coastline. The international cuisine by Chef Michelle is delightful.
The staff fulfills every need before you can ask without you even noticing. And then there is Luigi's playground.........a salt water beach pond complete with small boats, kayaks and a slide and you can swim and feed the fish if you want. The back hosts a perfect sized Fijian golf course leading to views stretching all the way to Taveuni.
The hosts arrange boat tours of Natewa Bay where dolphins are called from the open sea by a your Fijian boat driver and dozens come to play in the water with you. Also a sacred walk to witness the sacred red prawns dance at chant of the Fijian villagers of Dromuninuku followed by a lovo and bilibili at their beach brings you into the Fijian family. Oh and did I mention the massage at the point so you can listen to the waves and wind? The most rewarding relaxing holiday yet. I am going back with my family and hopefully a lover just not at the same time!
Truly unbelievable!

Room Tip: All the bures are private with beautiful views but my favorite is the closest to the point!

What a joy it was to see you enjoying so fully "Luigi's" playground, and being able to facilitate your hearts desire with some of the delights Fiji has to offer the adventurous! Our door is always open Lori, and the Dolphins are swimming circles in the bay!

Thank you for such wonderful words. It's lovely to know our efforts helped to make a truly memorable getaway for you!

Grazie & Vinaka

We didn't stay here, just had a very good dinner. It's a somewhat amazing place, manicured and beautifully designed, but since we were there off-season we were the only 4 people on the property, which made the experience slightly surreal (but not unpleasant by any means). We were very well taken care of enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Michel prepared a fantastic meal, and Margaret was a gracious hostess.

The La Dolce Vita family is very glad that we were able to contribute to what seems to be an enjoyable Savusavu holiday. Michel is especially gratified to hear you enjoyed your Teppanyaki dinner.
We're especially pleased you took the time to write a review on your experience.

Margaret and Luigi were the consumate hosts - we truely felt like family. They couldn't have been more welcoming of us and the kids. I have NEVER had such a relaxing holiday - despite that we were a group of 20 and managed so many activities. But somehow the hill walks, private golf course, lagoon lap swimming, snorkeling with dolphins, trips to pearl farms and endless dropping in the pool happened with a 'Fiji time' sense of no rush yet it was all on time and perfectly organised. And the food all appeared miraculously with me doing nothing and was delicious, serviced by delightful friendly staff, catered to kids - including arranging 2 nannies for the whole week so mums could wander at will - never felt anything was too much hassle. They even took us to a local school to take some school supplies and books we'd brought from Oz and into town when my daughter needed a doctor - really like family. I just adored it. Wish it was a little closer to home so we could go every weekend. Thank you thank you thank you.

Room Tip: The bures are all divine with amazing ocean views and luxury appointments but with such a large grou...

Based on my fabulous previous visit, I decided that this would be the perfect place to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with our friends. And it certainly was!

We had a perfect week, and felt totally spoilt by Margaret, Luigi and their wonderful team of staff (especially Michelle, their fantastic chef). We really appreciated the effort that they put into catering to everyone's needs and arranging our special celebration dinner.

I could not recommend this place more highly for anyone wanting to spend some time in paradise with a group of friends.

One of the rare joys of travel is coming back to a place and finding it even more wonderful than you remembered. Even better when you are greeted as a long lost friend.

As usual the food was superb, especially the traditional Fijian lovo (cooked in the pit with hot stones) and kokoda (coconut and fish ceviche) and "Italian night". My 2 year old son loved almost everything - no tacky pre-made "nuggets and chips" here!

Host Luigi is truly, madly, deeply welcoming. Watching him take off around the lagoon with a golf-cart full of children was hilarious.

Hostess Margaret is like a swan - effortless grace and serenity on top, but out of sight her legs are paddling madly to make all your wishes and whims come true. This time she outdid herself by organising a treasure hunt on their private desert island, complete with transport by kayak and local fishing boats and finishing with poolside Margaritas.

A wish was vaguely expressed to try the 6-hole golf course. No mention of bookings, fees or dress standards. Instead, sets of clubs quietly appeared by the breakfast table. On our last visit, we were interested in the traditional method of cooking in the hot springs and voila! someone went and cooked us a pudding.

But the magic is that despite the warm and attentive service, and the range of activities, there is complete privacy, quiet and relaxation when you want it. Time and tide permitting, you can do as little or as much as you like.
