“Came to paradise and found heaven”
Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

We recently celebrated a 20 th wedding anniversary with friends at la dolce vita. For a glorious week we celebrated - snorkelling on a stunning reef, playing with dolphins, swimming in the lagoon, kayaking and then having a massage. At the end of each day cocktails would magically appear by the pool with 5pm nibbles. This was followed by the most delicious dinners you have ever tried thanks to the talented chef Michelle. The kids had a fantastic time between the big slide, paddle boats and rides on Luigi's golf cart. But by far the best thing was spending a week with Margaret and Luigi - our hosts who made us feel like part of the family ..... Well ok, the very indulged and spoiled family. We'll be back soon.

I was there 2 weeks ago for a wedding! Comfortably catered for a 100 strong guest list. the food and service was impeccable, the band and the decor was simple yet elegant. So well thought out and organised.

This is a really hard review to write without it becoming just a long list of superlatives. It is amazing, brilliant with the best food in Fiji but it is so much more than that. I can honestly say I had the best 5 day break I have had in years and it is all down to the ambience that Margaret and Luigi have created.

It is like you have had this Uncle who travelled far away years ago and you have not seen him but periodically news reaches you that your uncle has bought a house in the most beautiful spot in Fiji. Then over the years the odd glamourous story reaches home of what he has been up to but he is unseen and you really want to travel there to meet him and see if all the stories are true.

Then finally you go to see your long lost Aunt and Uncle. (Sorry Margaret I know I am older than you) and everything you have heard about the wonderful place they live is true. But best of all they are really pleased to see you after so long, and they welcome you with open arms and because you are family you every whim is indulged.

I am not related to Margaret or Luigi but that is what we all felt when my family stayed at La Dolce Vita. It really is that good.

Dinners were just fabulous. We all sat around a big table with Luigi at its head. It felt just like being at a family dinner in Italy with lots of noise and laughter. Michelle would produce the most fantastic food, the best this side of Abruzzo.

One word of caution, beware of Margaret’s Caffè corretto. So Good but So bad. But best of all no impediment to sleep. Go up to Villa Firenze, leave the shutters open, Leave the door open. Fall asleep to the sound of waves being cooled by the sea breeze.

I can’t wait for the next time I stay with Auntie Margaret and Uncle Luigi

Room Tip: All the villas are great. If you have familly choose Villa Firenze because it has 2 rooms and a boti...

A group of us spent 5 nights at La Dolce Vita and had such a fantastic time. It is truly magnificent. Great Location, Great Hosts, Great Food, Great Staff, what more could you ask for. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to simply just get away and do absolutely nothing but relax and recharge. Heaven on Earth.

Room Tip: The rooms are all fantastic and come with great sea views. Would go again at the drop of a hat.

I can not begin to tell you how amazing this place is. La Dolce Vita is trully a hidden gem that offers you 5 star luxury with the most wonderful personal touch. The hosts Luigi and Margaret are the most hospitable people I have come across in all my travels. Not only do they look after your every need but best of all they really make you feel like you are part of their extended family. By the time you leave you feel like you have truly made two new friends for life.

The accomodation is just fabulous with well appointed villas amongst the most unbelievable grounds. So much more than you expect. I was blown away with the level of luxury and the size of my villa and Luigi and Margarets attention to detail can be seen every where you look from the wood carved verhanda's to the fresh coconut water and biscuits left for you every evening. I felt totally spoilt! My villa was very well appointed with all the mod con's including ipod docking station, fridge and kitchenet. The beautiful teak shutters allowed the most wonderful breeze to filtter through my room everynight cooling it right down whilst allowing me to enjoy the ambiance of the area. The large glass doors offered me the security that I needed at night whilst allowing me to enjoy the beautiful view that my balcony had to offer. I just loved it!!!!

Although the location seems quite remote, about a half an hour drive from the local town and 45 minutes to the airport, don't let that sway you as it is absolute heaven. Once you are there, there is no need to leave La Dolce Vita as it has everything you want and more. In fact the location only adds to it's appeal, so quite and peaceful.

Luigi and Margaret are truly hospitable hosts that genuinely care about their guests. Their staff are just beautiful and can't do enough for you. Chef Michelle is just wonderful with every meal a delight to eat. To say that he is self taught is unimaginable as he delivers the most spectacular meals and treats day after day. I especially loved the Teppanyaki night, and his pizza's are divine! I don't think I could have found a better meal on the island.

Luigi and Margaret have made sure that everyone's needs are covered. The beautiful pool is wonderful for relaxing around whilst the amazing lagoon caters for everybody's inner child. I especially loved the 9 hole golf couse Luigi has built that over looks the sea.

My only tip is to get yourself there before people start to discover this true gem!

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms! Honestly every single one is more than you would ever expect.

I recently spent 3 days in this wonderful place. I have stayed in many places around Fiji but never one more comfortable than this. The bure was ideal complete with kitchen and fridge. The ocean view was fabulous and the white sand beach was a joy. Chef Michelle served a unique menu of South Pacific with European twist fare and owners Margaret and Luigi are excellent hosts. I will be bringing my family back here!

Room Tip: all the bures are private with great views
