We stayed here for the first part of our Honeymoon back in April of 2004. We were blown away by the level of service and the beauty of the resort. Every little need was taken care of and the staff was so friendly. This part of Fiji is very much rain forest and coral reef, so if you are looking for white sand beaches, you will be disappointed. The food, wine, and drinks were excellent. My wife is a vegetarian, and she was well catered to. The end of our stay coincided with a Tony Robbins seminar, and while none of the attendees were a bother, the staff seemed a litle stretched during that time. I would recommend checking first to be sure that there is not one occurring during your stay. We stayed in a deluxe honeymoon bure' and highly recommend the same to others.

It has been almost one full year since my wife and I vacationed at Namale. I write this e-mail having thought about that magical place almost every day since.

Namale is a VERY special place. I have traveled extensively and can think of no more romantic spot. While there, you are treated like royalty. The staff is absolutely wonderful; the food superb.

The grounds are as I imagine the Garden of Eden to have been. Fruit trees abound. The smells are wonderous. The rooms are comfortable and private (ours had a gigantic ocean-view deck with chairs and hammock).

Whether it be providing you with a flashlight or having microwave popcorn available in the movie theater, the Management of the resort have thought of everything. You're greeting by name by all the staff and made to feel incredibly welcomed.

Should you visit, be sure to have Sammi (I hope he is still there) take you into the rain forest where you'll learn about all the medicine it provides. Ride the horses up the mountain to enjoy the incredibly scenic views. And absolutely do not miss attending church in the local village on Sunday. It is an experience of a lifetime. (And you should understand I'm Jewish!). The choir sing like angels despite any training or even (much to my surprise) organized practices! The hospitality shown us by the locals (we were invited into their homes and served food) was unlike anything I've encountered in my travels. The Fijian people are amazing. There is so much we can learn from these so-called "third world" people who clearly appear happier and more content then we supposedly "civilized" folks. I can picture their warm, inviting smiles as I write this review.

If there is a downside to Namale, it is that it lacks the type of beach we all tend to associate with the South Pacific. While there is a beach, the sand and surf are not ideal for laying out and swimming. Also, be sure not to book a room during a Tony Robbins seminar. At all other times, the hotel is far less crowded and quiet.

Reading back through this review, I see I've used many superlatives. It is impossible not to when speaking of Namale. Go there... unwind.... rest.... replenish your spirit.
