The staff at Namale are super friendly, they all remember you by your first name.
Every meal at the restaurant was very delicious.
The ocean view from my room was stunning, hearing the sea wave and feeling the sea breeze at night as I fall asleep.
And the spa experience was out of this world!

First rate WOW factor at Namale Resort. We had a honeymoon bure overlooking the ocean with a private infinity pool. Beautiful room and resort. The people/staff that work here are astonishingly friendly, over the top nice. The fijian people are the nicest I've ever met. We stayed in 3 resorts in Fiji, this was by far the nicest and had the best food as well. All inclusive is really all inclusive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is intimate and a great dining experience.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the Honeymoon Bure overlooking the ocean if you can.

Tama and Desley here.

What you have done to us I can not describe in words other than to say, amazing and thank you. I will not write a whole book about our stay, even it would be a best-seller. Location, accommodation, food, drinks, service, entertainment and facilities are brilliant. Worth every penny.
As you know we have booked for next year.

I did read two of the reviews who were negative. Well, I bet your respective spouses must have left you by now for somebody more exciting.

Can't wait to see you all next year and God bless.

We last visited Namale in November 2011 for our 30th anniversary. Now my wife's special birthday was another opportunity to savor the Fijian hospitality exemplified by the tropical paradise that is Namale. I didn't think it could get better based on our last experience, but it did.
Though our travel agent, Sue Michailidis moved to D.C. and is now with Connoisseur Travel, we found it worth it to use her services again to book our 7th trip to Fiji, even though we live in California. When she books a trip everything goes like a fine watch, She interfaced with the resort to make our trip and my wife's birthday something really special... Working with Austin and Hudson , who are with the marketing and guest services department at Namale, my wife had a birthday to remember. Starting with breakfast in bed, things progressed to special private luncheon at a remote waterfall. They arranged with the spa for a massage for her, and then a secluded private dinner at the beach. The chairs were wrapped in satin and the candlelight atmosphere was unbelievable. It was beautifully served with not a detail left out, down to the French Champagne, and birthday cake. All of these arrangements were in place before we got to the resort.
Though this was the highlight of our stay the rest of it was also on a superior level. We had several private dinners at remote spots with the food being brought there and the site being decorated. Our accommodation was impeccably maintained, and beautiful with its own private pool. The best part of Namale was the staff and how everyone from the groundskeepers to management greeted you with a sincere warm 'Bula" the typical Fijian greeting. It was truly amazing that some of the staff actually remembered us from our last stay that was over two years ago. .Except for spa services and diving just about everything is included in the resort rate, This includes alcoholic beverages and laundry. Again, it is not inexpensive but as they say, you get what you pay for, and that makes Namale a good value considering the expansiveness of the property, its multitude of facilities that are not available at most of the other Fijian resorts, and most of all the service and ,friendliness of the staff and the"can't say no". attitude that pervades the entire resort and the whole staff.

Room Tip: If a villa is in your budget or not too much of a stretch just do it. It is something you will never...

My husband, sister and I spent a week at Namale and it was UNBELIEVABLE! We had stayed there 3 years ago when celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary but this time was even BETTER! I didn't think they could TOP our stay there last time! My husband and I stayed in Nanise bure', which is the #1 honeymoon bure'in Fiji, the #5 in the world! This bure' was built on 2 natural volcanic boulders and is like a TREEHOUSE, as my husband described it when he told me which bure' he wanted to stay in this trip! My sister could not BELIEVE the natural beauty of the resort but even more than its' beauty, she said, was the genuine beauty inside and out of the Fijian people working at the resort! We had lunch and dinner on my sister's birthday in "the cave" which looks exactly like a cave and is situated below our bure'. At night the staff had about 30 or 40 little votive lights in little cracks and crevices all around the cave and flowers that spelled out HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUGAR to my sister! I can't say enough good about Melissa Freese of Fiji Vacations who helped me plan this trip to Namale. She is the BEST travel expert a person could WISH for and she does EVERYTHING in her power to make SURE you have a heavenly time! I would recommend ANYONE planning a trip to Fiji to enlist the services of Melissa AND to stay at Namale! We can't WAIT to return and are already planning our next trip to Fiji-and to NAMALE again, of course, our second home!

First, let me say that we loved our time at Namale and you'll love it too. But there are some things that prevent me from giving five stars.

What we loved: The service is terrific. The staff all greets you by name and tells you theirs. We were greeted at the Nadi airport and escorted to the Island Hopper flight that took us to Namale and greeted there by Namale staff. Same on the way out. Over the course of a week it becomes like staying with a family. Our bure (Siga) was beautiful. It was spacious and clean and we could lay in bed all day and watch the ocean. We also had a deck that was perfect for reading or lazing. The resort has lots of activities and almost everything is included. The best things were the waterfall lunch and special dinner on the beach under lava rocks. We snorkeled and kayaked and hiked and ate and read and ate and swam and ate. The one add on we did was a couples massage on our bure's deck at sunset. The therapists were terrific and the setting was perfect. Though the food isn't awesome, they'll make you anything you want and they try to get it right. The fruit drinks are by far the best thing you can get from the bar.

What needs improvement: Tony Robbins bought this place in the mid to late 90s. Basically it seems like he hasn't done a whole lot to it since then. The place has lots of amenities but they are old and tired. The exercise room needs a major overhaul with all the equipment ready for replacement and the room itself pretty drab. I found this ironic since Tony Robbins podcast was playing when I was in there with him talking about the importance of working out. If so, create a first class workout facility at your resort. The activity center has a bowling alley and virtual golf simulator but looks like a 70s basement in terms of decor. Many of the chaises on the beach were worn and torn and the umbrellas and hammocks old and moldy. The beach towels were almost all torn or worn with many near the dive shop being dirty and stained. These are all pretty easy fixes. One other little thing was that our bure had an 90s cd player stereo instead of an ipod dock or player. I mentioned this when asked on our last night and they provided us with a great iPod player. They should just put them in all bures. There are only 21. Seems like a simple fix. I wish we had our iPod dock the entire time. The food was okay but inconsistent. Some days the pancakes were cold, other days hot. The wine list is okay but I think the way they preserve their wine must not be great because all the wine tasted like it had been stored warm.

Things to Know: There is no swimming directly off shore since there is a reef that surrounds most of the property. This seems pretty typical for most Fiji islands. There is a swimming hole where you take out kayaks or swim to a water trampoline about 100 meteres out. We did that a few times. There is lots of stuff to do but it's kind of self serve. Meaning if you are hanging out at the Beach, no one will be there to wait on you unless you tell them. But if you tell them, they'll bring you whatever you want. You won't necessarily see a ton of folks. The capacity of Namale is about 50 guests spread over 21 bures. When we were there it was at half capacity. Some days we didn't see anyone anywhere until dinner when maybe we'd see two other couples. That was fine with us but something to know if you are looking for a big social place. The dive shop is the place where most off campus activities originate. Get to know those folks.

Overall, we'd definitely stay here again. It's a great vacation and just a few renovations and improvements from being a great place and regaining it's number one ranking for Savusavu resorts.

Room Tip: Siga and Totoka are next to each other and the same layout and views but Totoka is next to a pool th...

I would just like to say, on behalf of everyone here at Namale, how happy it makes us all to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us and that you would consider coming back for a return trip. Of all the compliments and accolades that a resort property may receive, the one that means the most is “we’ll be back”. I’d also like to personally thank you for sharing your experience here on Trip Advisor.
If I may, I would like to take the opportunity clarify a few of the details you noted in your review regarding Namale’s background and history. When Namale’s owner, Mr. Robbins, first obtained Namale some 20+ years ago it was just a shadow of what people today know as the Namale Resort & Spa. There were only a handful of bures (five I believe) and virtually none of today’s amenities. Over that time span additional bures were added as well as well as the resorts five luxury Villas which completed construction in 2007. Other additions to the property since Mr. Robbins became the owner include the tennis court, additional pools, fitness center, golf course, driving range, bowling and game room, 10,000 square foot award winning spa, indoor basketball court, and state-of-the-art dive vessel, just to name a few. Although there no current plans to construct any additional bures at Namale, there is a constant, ongoing program of upgrading and improving the existing bures and villas. Over the past 6 months Namale has also extended its Wi-Fi coverage to all guest bures as well as installed a brand new resort wide phone system. Our Main Dining Bure just underwent a major renovation and upgrade (completed in June of 2013) and our Spa is slated for a similar treatment in early 2014. In November of 2013 we will begin construction of a new Cardio Fitness room. Responding to guest feedback such as yours, the new “Cardio Room” will have a stunning view of the Koro Sea and be adjacent to the Lasalasa pool, basketball center, and conference room. As a side note, Namale is one of only 3 (I believe) resorts in all of Fiji that have a Fitness Center available for their guests to use. I did find it interesting when you said that there was a Tony Robbins podcast playing in the Fitness Center when you were there working out? We don’t actually have music piped into the Gym. The music system in the Fitness Center is designed for use with our guests own personal mp3 players. There must have been another guest in there at the same time playing it from their iPod ?
I’d also like to acknowledge your comments about the music systems in our bures. We began shifting all bures and villas over from CD Players to iPod dock players earlier this year. When we were about 50% complete, the Apple Corporation came out with the iPhone and iPod 5th Generation devices ! These new devices as you may know have completely different (8 Pin as opposed to the previous 30 Pin) attachment cables/docks. We are in the process of researching new docking devices that can accommodate both the new and older style iPod devices. We hope to have this resolved very soon.
Bottom line though, as much as we appreciate your kind words about how wonderful your stay was, we are equally appreciative and grateful for your honest feedback about areas where you believe we can improve. The greatest resource that we have in our efforts to constantly upgrade and improve the Namale experience for our guests are the comments we receive from our past guests. Both in our guest surveys and here on Trip Advisor.
Once again, thank you and Vinaka Vaka Levu from your “family” here at Namale. We look forward to your return in the not too distant future.
