For the attention deficit let me sum up by saying: Anyone diving in Vuana Levu should dive with KoroSun Dive! The personal attention, friendly nature, dive-site knowledge, and overall experience presented by Colin, Janine, and their staff is unmatched.

The best thing I can expand on is the personal nature that both Colin and Janine put into their business. From my initial contact with them via e-mail, it was obvious that they genuinely wanted to make me enjoy my diving-trip to Savusavu. When I let them know that I was on the ferry, scheduled to land at 0800; they warned me that the ferry had a well-known history of being late, and they also mentioned that they had no problem in holding the boat for my arrival. Previous experience with dive shops in the south pacific makes this level of customer service stand out as absolutely unique.
Moving on; the diving was absolutely fantastic…and not just due to the untouched natural beauty of the dive sites. Dive trips can be made-or-broken by the dive-crew. Colin & Steven (one of his locally hired dive masters) honestly seem to love diving. They don’t even have a pinch of that ‘burned out, only doing it for work’ attitude that so many dive masters/guides seem to have. An excellent example of this was obvious by how excited Colin got at seeing a “Blue Ribbon Eel” at one of the dive-sites; as he mentioned it was the first siting of this little creature in months. Just seeing him get that excited was a refreshing change, and it really energized the entire dive-boat for future dives…if our guides can get excited and surprised at a site they’ve been at hundreds of times….what was in store for us first-timers?!?!
Beyond just enjoying diving, the entire staff at KoroSun keep the safety and comfort of their divers at the forefront of their thoughts. One of our fellow divers, though fully certified, seemed a bit nervous as she hadn’t been on a dive in quite a long time. Colin, though leading an entire group of divers with varying experience levels, literally held her hand through the whole dive, ensuring she was comfortable, safe, and calm; but still continued to lead the rest of us on a very memorable and enjoyable dive. This level of safety and attention to personal needs is exemplary and, as I’ve mentioned, hard to find.
Lastly, I’d like to say, though I didn’t personally take any courses with KoroSun; I did see them working with a new student and was astounded when they provided the student with a portable DVD Player with which to watch the PADI instructional DVD’s prior to his training dives. Never have I heard of any dive shop, much less one that is a small business run by a husband-and-wife, provide equipment like that. It speaks volumes to how well they want their students to learn and succeed; providing all the tools necessary!
Though I usually prefer to always add some negative item, or some area-for-improvement to any review I do…I just can’t come up with anything that Colin and Janine aren’t doing right with KoroSun Dive. Having been diving around the world for the last 15 years; Australia, Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia, Fiji, etc…they are easily one of the best shop I’ve ever had the pleasure to dive with.
Janine & Colin run a great shop, they know the dive-sties like the backs of their hands, and above all they do whatever it takes to ensure that their clients have memorable and once-in-a-lifetime quality dives!
