My family recommended this Beautiful Eco Resort to my Boyfriend and I after stopping in for lunch one day.

The owners are a really nice, adventurous, older couple with a great sense of humor who actually work their place. Boy do they work it! They power their resort with solar and hydro; they grow as many organic fruits and vegetables as they can to supply their excellent restaurant; they buy local & fresh supplies with the exception of some nice imported coffees, teas and liquors; they run a Bohr Goat Farm on the large property; they are cool and laid back and encourage more guest involvement with the resort and resort staff than I have ever experienced at any other deluxe resort. I mean where have you been that you can you cook your own steak if you want to for Pete's sakes!?

Highly recommended on so many levels!

From the time Julie picked us up at the bus station in Labasa, we knew we were going to have a good time. She was so friendly and outgoing, she made us feel more than welcomed. We had only booked one night, but as soon as we saw the lovely garden, bures, pool, and peaceful rural setting, we knew we wanted to stay longer.

Joe and Julie are fascinating people who have traveled the whole world and share their adventures with their guests in friendly open conversation,
The 25 meter lap pool was a real bonus, and the atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of town was very relaxing. We loved visiting the goat barns and seeing the newborn kids. We also liked the fact that it was all solar powered.

Our bure was spotless and very comfortable. The food served in the big airy dining bure was delicious with a good variety to choose from. We didn't go on any tours, just spent our two days there reading and relaxing. I'm sure if we had wanted to spend time in Labasa Town, Julie would have taken us.

Their place is a way out of the town, so for travelers who want to be close enough to shop and spend time in the town on their own without having to catch a ride, it wouldn't do. It was just what we wanted at the time, however. We could use the internet and phone for no charge, though the internet connection was slow.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and would have liked to stay and visit with Joe and Julie a few more days, but we had an itinerary to keep and had to be on our way.

The best food in Fiji, served by some of the friendliest staff in a picturesque setting overlooking the sea. The accommodation is clean, comfortable, secure and peaceful. If its raining outside – I'm happy chilling inside.

The owners, Jo and Julie, are great company, full of life experience and happy to share stories from their adventures. Just as happy to give you loads of movies and let you do your own thing. They really make you feel at home.

It's secluded and quiet, there are rolling hills if you fancy trekking - as President of the Hammock Society I was happier sipping an ice cold beer (in a frosted glass) swinging in the hammock watching the goats dance in the distance.

This place is a gem, a bargain... forget Savusavu, head to Palmlea if you're in the north island of Vanua Levu.

This place could be the most relaxing holiday you've ever had, or packed full of activities. The owners and staff are so friendly, they work more like a family unit. The food is local and fresh and often made to order, we sampled some amazing Indo-Fijian food, Lovo, and mangrove crab. We also had a brilliant cooking lesson.
A short walk to the mangrove and the sea, where they've got a jetty. A short boat trip takes you to amazing snorkelling locations, or nearby beaches. Or a walk up one of the hills gives amazing views of the surrounding area, out onto the ocean and nearby islets.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Palmlea to anyone.

We were one of the first groups to visit Palmlea and had a fantastic stay. We took our one year old daughter who absolutely loved it and was spoilt completely rotten by the staff. It was a great spot to lie back and do a lot of nothing but there is also the option of doing more - we just chose not to.

Joe and Julie were great hosts and kept us very well fed and watered!

We're a family of four that cruised the islands of Fiji extensively in 2008. One of our favorite pastimes was visiting resorts around the islands, to see what they had to offer. Although we found several great resorts, too many were overpriced, with little to justify their high prices. Thankfully, Palmlea wasn't one of them. The resort is small, but perfect for a getaway retreat. Palmlea is a working farm, and the owners are happy to show you around. We really enjoyed the excellent and creative cooking. The rooms were cozy, clean, and new-looking. The hosts are charming, gracious and entertaining. No, it doesn't have a sandy beach - but resorts with sandy beaches are a dime-a-dozen in the South Pacific. If you want something different, and you want a great value for your dollar, don't miss Palmlea Farms.
