We have just returned from our second visit to Paradise, the first being 2 years ago. Everything was as we hoped it would be, beautiful resort grounds, friendly and welcoming staff, lovely air conditioned Vale and spectacular diving so close. Allan and Terri should be congratulated for creating and maintaining such a personal, relaxed resort. We love the fact that we have met many people from many countries and the coming together in Paradise creates great friendships. We certainly hope we can return to Paradise again.

Room Tip: New Vales are smaller than the Bures but at times it is nice to have the air conditioning even thoug...

Best place to stay, relaxing, sun, snorkelling, diving, divine food and cocktails. We stayed 8 nights and had the best time. Wanted a nice peaceful place to relax and enjoy the Fijian hospitality. And relax we did, but also snorkelled most days, beautiful clear warm water. You can do as much as you want or as little, we chose to do a bit of both. Accommodation was great and so was the hospitality. Definitely go back again.

Room Tip: The stand alone bures are great. Nice and spacious, cleaned everyday with fresh towels and sheets. B...

My wife and i spent a week at Paradise Taveuni in September and it was one of the best and most relaxing holidays that we've had. The location and the resort itself were spectacular, the accommodation was great and very comfortable and the view from the cabins/bures was outstanding. The staff were plentiful, friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem for them. The food was varied and very good and the diving was well run, diverse and very good. We really enjoyed our time there and wanted to stay longer and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to others (and already have on numerous occasions) and would definitely go back

Our family spent 3 weeks in Fiji, October 2012. We had 3 very different experiences during our trip. The first week we were on a boat called the Tui Tai. We spent the second week at Paradise, and the third at Matava, an eco resort on Kadavu. And although all 3 were very special in their own way, I think I speak for my entire family when I say when we go back, it will be to Paradise. The location was fantastic! The grounds were meticulously maintained. The accommodations were clean and very comfortable. The staff were kind, gentle people who were genuinely concerned about our happiness, safety, relaxation, and appetites. The dive shop was equipped with nice, new gear and the staff were smart and attentive. The resort hosted several interesting cultural events i.e. coconut cracking and milking, basket weaving, and sulu tying. Several of us purchased a dive package and the diving was some of the best we've ever done. We also purchased the 3 day unlimited spa packages. This was heavenly. All around, Paradise was a great place to relax, have fun, eat well, and forget about life for a while.

Room Tip: We stayed in the free-standing ocean front bures. They were the best!

We recently stayed at Paradise for part of our Honeymoon in Fiji and it was by far the best place we stayed on the whole trip. The location is stunning and the staff are wonderful, the service was so friendly & personal it made the 5* hotels in Denarau look second rate! The food was always excellent and there was a different secluded spot for a romantic dinner each night if you wanted to be away from the other guests. There's some awsome diving there too, the dive team were great fun and the equipment is new and in really good condition.

We spent 8 happy days at Paradise in September. Almost every single detail of our stay was perfect.
We were picked up at the mini airport in Taveuni by a smiling Rupeni. He drove us to the resort which is about 45 minutes without stops. He was kind enough to stop at the "big" grocery in town to pick up sodas and beer for our room.
Upon arrival, we were given a kings welcome. Terri, one of the owners, and several employees greeted us with smiles, flower leis and warm, wet washcloths for the weary travelers. (we had left our home in Chicago 22 hours before). We were given a 5 minute tour of the resort just to get our bearings. Then we were brought to the Honeymoon bure. A short brief of our new home and then, wait for it..... We were each told to sit down on our deck, given cold coconut juice, and were to take off our shoes and socks. A beautiful Elaina washed our feet, and then gave us foot and calf massages! So terrific after a long journey. The view of the ocean from our seats wasn't bad either.
Our room was beautiful! A big king size bed. A nice living area with a mini kitchen area. It is stocked with some snacks and reasonably priced drinks. There is enough room for you to add your own drinks too. ( there is nothing, I mean nothing to by the resort. No stores or restuarants)
The outdoor shower and jacuzzi area is heavenly!!!! Such a treat to shower outdoors.
The grounds of the resort are so beautiful!!!! They have a large team of gardners working diligently all the time to keep the grounds perfectly. They are working on growing more vegetables at the resort and that area is out of sight at the back of the resort. They decorate all surfaces with fresh flowers which are very plentiful.
We are scuba divers which is why we came to Fiji. Their house reef is very nice and they go there every other day. Rainbow reef is the star of the show. 20 minutes by boat to the reefs. Soft corals galore in all different colors! Cabbage reef is like no other. Tons of nudibranchs in many different varieties. We did 13 dives and saw sharks almost every dive. Some turtles and a couple eels. Lots and lots of fish! Rainbow is best seen when the currents are running. We were happy with the dive shop. We rented equipment because of airline weight restrictions and we had no complaints- all new gear! Flo, Charlie and Richard were all safe and caring dive masters. Boat well equipped and comfortable for more divers than were on our dives.
There is a problem with crown of thorns invading. I disagree with the thinking that it is a phase that will pass. They are dangerous and destructive. If I was in charge, I would be encouraging kill dives. Two of our dive masters got hit while we were there. Serious stuff. No guests were hit.
The staff was outstanding! Beyond friendly. Everyone knew our name by our first evening. If you needed anything just look up and a staff member was there. Beautiful smiles and a ready "Bula!"
All,packages include your meals. They are plentiful and always attractively served. There are several areas on the property to eat. They thoughtfully move meal times to different areas to add variety and elegance to the experience. Everyone has opinions on food and I am a harsh critique. Breakfasts were my favorite and I always enjoyed them. Lunch second favorite, followed by dinner. The fish is fresh everyday and I loved that. The grilled or fried fish is excellent but I think the grillled needed more spice. We thought the beef was near unedible. The taro root is a nasty thing and served often. The curries were very good. We did and upgrade seafood dinner and it was our favorite meal of the week and the up charge was reasonable. All that said, you will not go hungry, you will enjoy most of your meals but the food is not why you go there.
The island drinks were only ok. Their bar staff could use additional training. Bitter beer is very good and comparable to Sierra Nevada.
This resort is amazing. Alan and Terri have built the place up from the ground up. They seem to be always reinvesting and improving the resort. They have two beautiful children who you will meet. The daughter is an excellent hostess in her own right! They have two great dogs who decorate the lawn. I really enjoyed all of them.
One does need to have a certain sense of adventure to go there. It is a rough road from the airport. You are in the middle of the jungle. Their power is all by generator. The owners work very hard to make Paradise a fabulous resort but you are in a remote part of the south Pacific, not Cancun. Sometimes all things are not perfect.
This was one of my best vacations of my life and I would go back in a heartbeat!!!!!

Room Tip: You do not need air conditioning. Really. We like to sleep in cool rooms and we were fine. Opt for t...
